i am officially the owner of a three legged eight month old lions head bunny, Luna :) she's recovering quite well from the surgery, besides one part.
about a week ago i noticed that she has a little bit of urine scald on her leg. her vet said to put more carefresh down in her cage, and wait it out. she has to get used to going to the bathroom with only one leg.
i put about an inch more carefresh in her cage, yet there is still no improvement.
is there anyway way i can help get rid of this? i don't think she's in any pain, she's running around as normal.

You will want to keep her legs clean and dry. I suggest washing her foot twice a day with a mild dilute iodine or hibitane solution. This just prevents it from getting worse.
Wow, get better soon Luna!!
I guess just keep it clean and wait it out.

My rabbit had a problem like this when I used a regular litter box. To fix it, I made a new litter box out of wire, so everything falls through and she isn't sitting in it, or dribbling urine down her leg. It's much like a cage that has a wire bottom, except this is only her litter box. I have never had a problem since.
