so i saw this guy who deals with exotic pets.hes treated many rabbits. he was telling me how he used to work on rabbits in england cuz theyre so popular there. well anyways i told him he had no history of any problems and i was just taking rusty in for a check up and to get him on file at that vet in case of an emergency.

well i went in there and he asked about his diet, told him he was on pellets, timothy hay,and regular fruits and vegetables. then he asked about his urine and pooping and such, said it was fine. he checked his teeth. said they were really white, straight and perfect. he felt around for his back teeth and said usually to really check the back teeth the rabbit needs to be sedated and put a scope to see. he said he felt them and he could feel that they were straight and all perfect. he checked his bum, said it looked fine. he weighs 5 pounds... i asked about his hard tummy and he felt around and said he couldnt feel any problems like bloating and such. he knew he wasnt constipated from what i told him about his regular visits to the washroom, and he couldnt feel any abstructions or anything. i told him he was starting to get sore hocks and he thought that when i mentionned that that it was a huge problem but its only an area about the size of a dime... so he put this cream on that will thicken the skin on his feet so he doesnt get these sores anymore. he checked his nails and said they were perfect. ( took me months to get them that short since he wouldnt let me near his feet for the longest time and they were so long) anyways he was talking to me about stuff and he could tell that i worked at a pet store and stuff.he told me i could always come back and just steal the scale and weigh him if i was worried.

he also told me that rusty was the second rabbit hed seen all day and that rusty just sat there and took the exam lightly. purred and stuff.he didnt kick or anything which was nice. tthought he was going to be terrible. and there was one point where he laughed at rusty. i had been teaching rusty to just sit up on command. but its when i do this thing on top of his head that hell do it or if i tell him sit pretty. well the vet did something similar and he just sat up, and the vet was like,i cant believe he seems so calm for his first checkup.

thats all i have to say for now.... just wanted to say how well he did, and that his tummy thing is nothing.

the vet also said that i was a perfect mom and that he was so spoiled, not ever haviing to go to his cage or anything. and i took that comment to heart since he was pretty hot ;) i think i definitely blushed.

hopefully hes not married.....;)

Oh wow! Sounds like an amazing vet! :) It's always so reassuring to deal with a vet that knows his/her stuff.

Glad to hear Rusty did well :D. What a good little boy with the vet.

That vet sounds great, and it sounds like Rusty is the picture of health.:) It's good that he's nice to the vet aswell, my buns hate going to the vets, Millie even bit him once while having her booster.:lol

Ooh a hot vet that's good with bunnies...what more could you ask for!?:DMy old vet was an ugly old man, I'd much prefer to see your guy ;)

And yay for Rusty being healthy, we need more pictures of him!!:bunnydance:

I have found that buns will react to odors& that it's possible that something on someone's skin or even their natural skin odor may cause a negative reaction, or a positive one. The rab may also react to someone's mood.
