As most of you know Sebastian was neutered 10 days ago and he went in today to get the stitches out, Witch went off without a hitch, But BIGGER news is that we also brought Suki up to get spayed, Witch also went off without a hitch she is in a just cleaned hutch with hay water and a big bowl of food, Hoping she will tuck into it Before tomorrow, the vet said if she doesn't start eating in two days to bring her in again, I got no pain medication for her. Vet didn't think we needed it.

Yay! I hope your good luck continues. I am a bit concerned about your vet's instructions though. I'd say not eating in 12 or 24 hours would be worrisome. Also, pain meds are much more important for a spay than a neuter, as you probably know already. Do you have any pain meds left over from Sebastian? I hope she's ok. If she doesn't eat in 12 hours, you may want to call the vet and ask for pain meds for her.

I am glad Suki got through the operation alright. She may be quiet fo a while my girls took between a few and 48 hours before they bounced back, but all were fine.

Yeah I had actually asked him for pain meds but he insisted that She should be ok without them, If not Bring her back in and he would give me something, I really hope she eats something soon. Oh and Sebastian didn't get any pain meds either.

I hope she gets better soon, I hate the way I have to bring her back in, in two weeks to get the stitches out.

I would insist on the pain meds. I'm surprised that the vet still uses external stitches. Most vets use glue and internal stitches. No need to return for removal.

I am too. The vet that neutered Prince used glued to stitch him up. All I had to do was go in and have them check the neuter after 2 weeks, to make sure that there was no swelling. Prince is doing very well!

Is she eating and drinking and pooping at all? Spays are way harder than neuters.
Also keep an eye on her that she doesn't chew the stitches out.

You may be able to entice her to eat with some fresh wet greens and add a little juice to her bowl. I always spend a lot of time with spays giving them fluids ,trying to get them to eat etc.

if she is looking hunched and uncomfy in the AM you should get pain meds for her

I don't know why these vets don't know better.:?

She hasn't eaten anything And She is quite hunched and the vet is closed for the weekend, So I will have to wait till the Monday, He has an emergency number, What should I do?

I'm so happy just went out to see how she was, And I decided to bring a carrot to get her started eating well When I opened up her hutch her big bowl of food was over half eaten and most of her hay gone, and she eat some of the carrot. Things looking good, If she continues to eat, I don't think I'll get pain meds.

That's good that she's eating but is she also drinking ?

can you take a look at her stitches (Sometime Today) to see if they look intact.and are notred or swollen?
Is she pooping and peeing?

Excellent, that's a really good sign. Raylann barely ate for about 48hrs.

Yeah, I'm glad she's eating. Is she still sitting hunched over? Also, has she pooed and peed?

She's eating drinking pooing and has done a few pees. And she is moving around alot, Just a side note mam let her out in the garden without telling me till she did it, Suki is running around, Is this ok. Oh and suki is too independent to let me check her stitches.

She shouldn't have free roam as she could jump and rip out the stitches . Don't let her out in the garden yet but she can have a small room without anything to jump on .
Try to check as the stitches may may already be out.

Didn't the vet tell you to keep her somewhat confined?

He did but my mother even though I told her not to was still persistent on letting her out even though I asked her not to.:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X

It's good that she's eating, pooing, peeing, drinking, etc, but definitely do not let her run around like that. I know it was your mom that did that, but maybe now she knows it's important not to let her run around for about a week. I hope she continues to improve!

This really annoyed me and I told my mother to stay away from the rabbits from now on, And I hope she does that, Because any time she tries to do something with them I end up with a big mess to fix because she is inexperienced.
