I looked at something I should never ever ever have looked at!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mario's gonna have to tie my hands behind my back and keep every form of currency off me at allllllllll times!!!!

Wanna see what it is????

http://www.bunnyhutchrabbitry.com/velveteen-lops.htm

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww they are GORGEOUS!!! I am dying for one :shock:Could you imagine the softness of their fur???? I hadn't seen any like this!!!!!!!!!! I'm a goner!

Velveteen Lops, English Lops, and Continental Giants are my dream rabbits.

The Velveteen Lops really are fascinating.

*Sighs*

I'm totally gone head over heels over this breed. This is officially my heart breed! I love Thumbelina on that page! I'm beeeeeeeeeeeeeegging Mario for one. *Blushes* I will MAKE room for one. LOL.

I did the unthinkable... I contacted a breeder...

I am going crazy. Mario is willing to get me one if we can provide a space. I look at them and I just want to squish them all.:thud:We were supposed to wait but now I am totally in love and Mario wants to offer me one from him personally.:bunnyheartI am guessing they might have a vulnerability to their ears? At least now I know my vet does operations and they can certainly show me to clean his ears properly... Oh my I cannot believe I could possibly get one!!! *Crosses fingers that the breeder has some*

But how will arrange the house? :ponder:Over Dahlia would be way too high, the bunny would probably be scared. Poor thing. Hmmmmmmmm maybe if I spay Dahlia she won't be as aggressive and then I can bond her to him and add a level to her cage... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Those bunnies are so adorable. I could take any one of them :).

They are SO cute! I love that chestnut one! He's so silky looking! Makes me want to go snag Bo and snuggle him! Sometimes he doesn't mind - other times it's like "MOMMMMMMMYyyyyyyyy!!!!!! please!" :p

Oh boy, you discovered the Velveteens :D

I've wanted one for a while too; they look so soft and pettable don't they? :p

It looks like they might have the same problems with their ears as English Lops.
Good luck with your new little one, if you get one ;)

Have you seen the set up I have??

They don't mind being up high at all. The only problem would be building a ramp to let them out, or having buns that are comfortable being picked up.

My cage is already 4 grids high unfortunately. Wiggles and Bam-Bam have 2.5 and Dahlia has 1.5 in height. I would hope that having Dahlia spayed would make her more receptive. I thought she was older but when recounting, I realized she's only 7 months so maybe she will want a partner once she has passed her 'teens'. However, I also have to consider the possibility that maybe they wouldn't bond. :ponder:I really really want one. I'll really need to think this one through properly... *Goes to look in the bedroom, closets, etc.* :whistling

Oh man...those are such beauties!!! I literally went "Ohhhhhh!!!!!" when I saw them! What a cutie-pies!! :)

Oh Velveteen lops have been a breed I have wanted for such a long time, it was love at first sight with me. :bunnyheartI love anybun with a rex coat!

I am so jealous that you might be getting one, but I hope you do, piccies for us to see! hehe

When I first heard of the velveteens my reaction was 'aawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww' too! They are an adorable breed...I've yet to see one in person, but am sure my heart will melt when I do. Not sure how much closer they are to being ARBA accepted yet, but I guess they're still a work in progress. I've been in semi-contact with a breeder here (trying to get another English lop) and he raises velveteens and mini-rexes as well. If ever I do buy an E-lop from him, I'd love to see his other rabbits, esp. the velveteens...but would really, really, really have to refrain from wanting a velveteen! ;) And aren't those babies absolutely adorable??! *sigh*

***Oh, and as a side note....this was an interesting thing written on the website:

Beet pulp shreds work wonderfully in our trays by reducing odor dramatically, thus requiring far less changing.

And what undergunfire said:

Me too! I love E-lops the most (they're my *heartbreed* ;)), but the Giants are such beauties, I'd love to have one some day. And the velveteens...well, it's a good thing there's no breeders in the area is all I can say. Temptation would be just too great! :p

Stop posting cute bunnines.

LOL! Ok ok :p

Sadly, there are none in Montreal. The breeder is hoping to have some in 3 months. He is still experimenting with the breed. It's for the best I think. Space wise it's not too logical. I'm still bugging Mario for a Yorkshire puppy though :biggrin2:
