Good point! They'd be easy to tell apart, at any rate. Also, have you tried giving the runts extra feedings from the mom? Set the mom on your lap and hold one of the little babies under her belly. They should latch on and nurse.

So sorry about the babies you lost. The one that was rejected probably had something wrong with it that the mother could sense. Sometimes runts have more wrong with them than size.

Congrats on all the babies though! They're beautiful. I hope you continue to share pictures with us as they grow.

If you do have to supplement with formula, kittens' isn't as good. Our wildlife rehabber swears by Esbilac puppy powder. Fostering the babies to the other mom, or supervising feedings is probably a better idea as well.

I didn't know I had replies from you guys because I didn't get a notification in my email - don't know what was going on there.

Anyway - I probably would have got the puppy formula and/or moved babies in with the other mom if I'd read your suggestions. It's OK, though - the runts are doing fine and everybody's getting to be around the same size now. So - lucked out this time!

Here are some pictures of some of the 6-day-old bunny babies. We still have 12 and everybody's looking fine. I'm trying to hold each of them every day. It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it. :D
