Yesterday I was at the place where I get Sunny's food and they had 4 babies in there that were dropped off at the door....4 weeks old!

Anyway, I brought Paul into see them, hoping we could get either the 2 brothers or the 2 sisters (they are separated male/female). He said yes to one, but NO WAY to two.

I just know that we could give one of them a better home than they could ever hope for, but I don't have the heart to separate one from the others.

I've thought about asking the store to call me if one is taken, and then I could take the one leftover.

What do you guys think?

If you have the time and money for another bunny, I would get one of those babies, even if Paul won't let you get two. Be sure to get them to a vet though, they probably have some health problems from being seperated from the mom so young. Are you positive they're only four weeks old? You may want to consider nursing for a little while, as well. I know of kitten replacement milk for nursing kittens, but I'm not sure if it can be used with bunnies. I've heard of kittens raising bunnies and bunnies raising kittens though, so it could be a possibility...

I would go back, and take the weakest looking one.

I would also work on my partner to get another :).

If you get one, read some of the articles on this site about raising a baby bunny and feel free to ask any questions in the rabbitry or infirmary. We have some very knowledgable people here.

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah, Sunny was already 2 months when we got her, so if we get a wee baby...The learning process will have to start all over again. Which is fine by me :)

I will keep working on Paul to take both. If we can't, I think I will let the store know that I'll take one if there's one left behind.

The girl that works there took the runt...She says it's funny because she thought she was going to be in for a lot of extra care with the runt, but the little one is more hyper and mischevious than the other female she took home! That's a good sign.

They are all very happy little babies. Very curious and even affectionate. I don't know who could have had the heart to just drop them off like that. But, at least it was there and not in the middle of nowhere, I guess.

Whoever it was better have decided to get the mama spayed now.

We got her!!!
Just picked her up and she's an absolute doll!
I've already had a face and knee bath! She seems very relaxed.
I'll post some pics sometime tonight.
I haven't tried to introduce her to Sunny yet. I'll really need some coaching on that.
We've named her Misu.

On a happy note.....The girl in the pet store is taking her sister and 2 brothers home tonight! So no guilt for me! Yay!

sas :)and the gang of fur :bunnydance::bunnydance::bunnydance::bunnydance::bunnydance:

I'd keep her away from the other bunny for a time. Kinda like quaranteen I guess is how I've heard it.

We got Bo and Clover a stuffed puppy that wasn't real furry but more flat material to use to snuggle until they were older - nowClover beats the crap out of the puppy and Bo licks his and chins it all the time. (see my avatar - Clover's is green)

Oh that's so great! The feeling of cuddling a new bun, is probably the best in the world!

Oo- Bo, did you get the stuffed pup from a petstore in the toy section for dogs? I want to get Pebbles a little toy, but want something thats safe if she does chew it.

I want to get Fuzz a stuffed animal, but since I'm not sure how she would treat it, I don't know whether to get something with beans or stuffing in the event she ingests some innards. Does anyone have any clueas to which issafer?Of course I would be watching her closely, but they always seem to find that moment you aren't looking and then squeeze every possible bit of troublemaking they can into it.

Grrr....My computer has been down since last night, and now my camera's acting wonky. I promise, I will get some pics up asap!

Well, a quick update: Sunny has never ventured on to the kitchen floor before, ever! But, as soon as I turned my back for a second, she decided she'd brave it for a go at Misu. So, Misu has gone from a trusting, curious, affectionate little thing to a bunny so scared, she runs and hides from the little noise of me putting a glass down on the table!

Oh well, I've moved her further across the kitchen, to a spot where she can easily hide (behind my wine rack). Poor thing.

It's tough not to get mad at Sunny, but I know she's only doing what instinct and mother nature tell her to.

Pics soon!
