I love Naturestee's cage, it's one of my favorites. So simple yet so great!

Cage stats: 2w x 4l x 2h with a 1x4 shelf. The floor is a concrete/fiber board covered with peel and stick tiles that actually have some traction. The shelf is covered with plywood. The cardboard tube was needed to keep the shelf propped up.;)

Actually, the cage behind the one Fey is in is made with NIC cubes. They are 14x14 inch wire grids that are sold for making shelves at lots of places under different brand names, including Target, Shopko, Home Depot, and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

That cube cage is twice as long as it is wide, so it's 28" by 56."

That is really inspiring. It also sounds inexpensive which is important for a college student like myself! I'm sure you have a guide to making NIC cages somewhere on here so I can educate myself on them, to know all the other parts I would need and instructions on how to basicly put them together. And the whole designing process sounds like it would be a lot of fun for me and my gf. We're pretty creative people so I hope we can have some fun with it :D

These cages are great because you can make them fit any space. I've seen cages that go around corners, long and thin, short and wide, one level or four. And they're fairly easy to rearrange, expand, or split as needed. I had to split this cage for a few months as the bond broke between the rabbits. Then I took the divider out when they were rebonded.

Plus the extra grids are great for bunnyproofing.;)

yeah, I'm curious how custom we can make them. Like maybe I'd like to make a single cage that has multiple levels to expand the area they have while not taking up more floor space.

Now I'm trying to call around to see if anyone has them. This is El Paso and so many things are so hard to find here.

Btw I'm guessing most of these frames have grids that are too large for smaller breeds. Any input on where I would be able to get some smaller mesh? Or am I stuck with having to put some type of mat as the flooring?

You can sometimes find grids with a very fine mesh, although bunny toes could still get stuck in between the grids. It's best to cover them with something.

My biggest problem was finding flooring with traction. Bunnies slide!

I believe somewhere in the top few links is a list of stores that carry the grids. And no problem for the smaller breeds. The links also provide flooring ideas, etc.

Yes I have seen a basic list of common stores that might carry the proper materials. However I do find it rather difficult to get the employees do understand exactly what I'm looking for. So far Linens N Things is a no go but Home Depot thinks they carry what I'm looking for.

Found some for sure! Bed Bath & Beyond has some cube sets that definetly seem like they will do the trick. We're going out now to get some and return the other cage.
