She's the last of the does that I had bred she kindled 6 normal, 3 peanuts

This picture was from today, she lost 2 of the peanuts last night, but the last peanut(second one in from the left) is still going strong!

5 have fair markings, 2 are DQ mismarks.

Sorry I didn't post about them sooner, but I had my hands full with the two other big litters(thankfully the other dutch doe killed one and is now fostering a mini rex with her remaining baby)

Thanks for posting these!! My Tony is a tort Dutch and today is his 3rd "gotcha day"--which I celebrate as his 4 and a halfth birthday. So sweet to see what he would have looked like long ago.

that's a long drive for some bunnies! lol. if you can meet me in Lexington, I'll bring a few up! lol. I def wasn't expecting this large a litter. her first litter was 8-lost one, this was a litter of 9(three peanuts) and lost two of the peanuts, i'm still expecting the last peanut to pass on me as well. The whole litter is going to be for sale!

At least one of these are mine, everyone should already know that so BACK OFF! xD I call the best buck. Momma is also mine. Haha, now everyone go cry in a corner because you can't have them :D

I was wondering, you said that there were peanuts. I thought Dutches didn't have peanuts--because a peanut carries two copies of the dwarf gene. Do Dutches carry the dwarf gene? Were they just small bunnies that didn't make it, not the typical huge-head, tiny body peanut?

If they aren't peanuts then they're extreme runts. I don't typically end up keeping them alive, they don't make it, they get squished by the other kits. THey're half the size of the other babies.

I thought the same, Claire. I thought Dutch being a meat breed did not have the dwarf gene. Were they runts or peanuts, Heather? I know most Lionheads do not have the dwarf gene and they are small and compact, so maybe it is possible for the other way around?

I'm starting to think they were peanuts, they did have huge heads and half the body size of hte others, at any rate, their eyes opened today, but it was beyond too windy to keep them out long for pictures. Lost the last runt/peanut. But six big healthy babies! Pictures soon, I promise!

Dutch do not carry a dwarfing gene. Your babies were runts. Happens a lot in Dutch. Sometimes they live and go on to be normal babies, sometimes they don't. With 9 in the litter, I am not surprised by 3 runts. Nice markings on the babies. Why are you not keeping any?

well this is the second time i've crossed this doe to that perticular buck and I kept one from the prior litter that I like, so I'd really rather sell these babies, I hadn't intended to bred her again, but I had a fall out on buying the doe bred prior so I kept her through kindling and decided to sell on from there. Would you like one?
