Well so far I have got
£5.20 in the Dippy neutering fund!

That might not seem much but it's a start!
I have a few things to seel on ebay including a giant cuddly horse - That should bring quite a lot - I'm hoping at least £30-40 - So that will be quite good - I am making things out of those hama beads to seel to friends and family only at about 10 or 15p each but think about it sell 3 of them i already have 45p Okay maybe not so good. But every little helps!
Any other fundraising ideas welcome :biggrin2:

What about a boot fair?

Boot fair are great places to make cash. Me and my Mum did one last summer and made £100 from our old junk, we bought a PS2 :p Maybe say to your Mum could you get all your junk together, not just yours, the whole families, and do a boot fair together. I know you have a little sister and I don't know if she kinda shares Dippy and Fluffball with you but if she doesn't I'm sure you could let her keep ehr money for the things she sells, but I think your parents would let their stuff go towards paying for the neutering and spaying. People will buy anything, its really weird. They're like magpies. They will buy an old bar of soap for 50p (but then they complain when you ask them to pay £3 for an unopened bottle of posh perfume?) You could get toys, books, videos, old garage items etc. Its a good way to make money. Me and my Mum are planning to do one again when I can get time off work (they're always on a Sunday) so probably late summer.

YES MUM SAID YES TO A CAR BOOT SALE WOO WOO I AM MAKING POSTERS RIGHT NOW!!

Are you going to go to a big one or do one at your house? You'll make alot more money if you elsewhere. It costs about £8 to pitch up. If you can get a wallpaper-pasting table they are good to set up on, plus you can get a big piece of tarpaulin and lay it on the ground to put things on. If you are selling clothes you can find a friend who has a hanging rail, go into a fashion store for hangers and put clothes up.

Best tip I found when we did it is don't price everything up, because people are less likely to buy. They see the price and go 'oh no'. If they ask the price, they're already half sucked in!

This may sound like an incredibly silly question, but what is a boot fair? Is that similar to flea markets or yard sales in the US?!

:ponder:I feel totally out of the loop. He he!

Good luck raising money, Becca. I'm sure you'll have it together in no time!

Boot fair, in the UK we call car 'trunks' boots. So a boot fair is where you sell stuff out of your boot (trunk). Except they do them in these big 'fairs'. Basically a farmers field will be let out for the day (pretty much always Sundays) to let people park up their cars. It can be a huge thing, 100-200 cars or such selling stuff. You pay about £8 to pitch up, and then you can set up a stall by your car with a table and sell all your junk. Loads of people (especially the ahem.. 'older' generation) come and buy your junk. They also have things like ice cream vans and burger vans. Its kinda like a mass junk sale.

:roflmao: LOL! This made me laugh! It's so true though.... I get confused with all the different names we have for stuff....

Becca, what did you think of the chores idea? Would your mum go for that? It always amazed me how my mum said she had no cash on her at all, but if I vaccumed the stairs/cleaned the oven a tenner magically appeared lol...

A car boot is a great idea though! Never been, but my best friend has done a few- you get rid of loads of junk, make space, and get money at the same time! :D

Oddly enough, I've never seen fleas for sale at a flea market or garages for sale at a garage sale.:raspberry:

I am very happy, Mum is going to phone round at some local vets next week and see their prices for neutering so we should get Dippy neutered within the next month or so I hope!
I can pay her back when I raise the money :biggrin2:
