I work alone 3rd shift, but I do have contact with the connecting shifts, so people know I have companion bunnies. I've been promising to bring Peter and Bugs in when the weather got cooler, and so this morning, when I got home, I asked the guys if they would mind going in, and they were unbelievably laid back about it. It's a short 7 minute ride downtown, so we packed up, and went down and visited with the first shift people. I got all the usual questions, as you can imagine, LOL, plus one person who made a face and stepped back, like my bunnies were going to give her cooties. She said rabbits were smelly. I asked her if she smelled anything bad at that moment, and she said no, but she was having no part of Bugs and Peter. Her loss.

Has anyone ever brought ttheir bunny into work?

Awww, that's great. :p

I don't have a job, but my mom does, and he boss loves rabbits. My mom bought her a rabbit card for her birthday that looked kinda like Macey, and she told her boss that she did, so she said one day when I was off school and she was off work and her boss is at work, we'll take Macey down to see her. :)

Yeah, I hope I didn't traumatize my two little guys, but I think they need a little more experience with car trips anyway, since they are extreme homebunnies, who virtually never leave the house.

I think it was good for them to get out and get used to riding in the car and meeting other people. I shelter them way too much. In case of emergency, I want them to be ok with going somewhere on the spur of the moment, so little trips like we did this morning are good. :)

I'm sure they had fun. :)

Last year, I took Belle up to my church around Easter time into a room full of about 200 kids who were under the age of 10 as well as about half of their parents attended. I gave a twenty minute speech about rabbits and why not to get one unless you're prepared.

It actually went really well. I didn't want to bring Maggie, because Belle's more laid back and I thought she would handle it better. Everyone in the room was AMAZING about keeping extremely quite. I actually had Belle in another room, because I wasn't sure how loud the people would be. But I was defintally suprised how silent the room was. Belle didn't seem to mind to much about there being so many people either. Shewas justlaying in her chair most of the time. Shegotextra treats that day. :p

Yeah, I think it's all about how we present the situation to them. Our nervous vibe seems to make a direct hit on their bunny wavelength.

mine go to work pretty regular as the vet is just round the corner from my work, the clients love them, and they like to run around the staff room if they are there awhile they tend to ask the girls for treats :)I also have a few clients with rabbits so its not unusual for them to bring them in for me to get a cuddle, other than 1 client calling me a bunny bore everyone loves to see and pet them and ask the usual questions.

I take mine to work every so often, since I work at a vets office. Most of my coworkers know about Orion's story and since he's a cuddle bug anyway, they love to hold him.

I agree completely. That's why I didn't bring Maggie with me, especially considering I wasn't sure how it was going to go, and I thought Belle would do better in the situation.

How fun! :)

I got Freckle from a coworker when I was still on day shift. She brought him and 3 siblings in b/c another coworker was taking them for her dad (1st coworker got a bun who was pregnant... 2nd coworker's dad and his other kids were excited for them and still love them). So Freckle and them were at work, boy did everyone LOVE them! :)

Then recently my friend wanted a bun (thanks to me) and I got a little cutie for her from someone who lives around me and had babies, so I brought him into work. We couldn't help but take him out a few times and cuddle him. They even let him hop around! I was in the break room eating so I missed it :(

THe next night I brought my small dog with me, that was fun :) We're not really supposed to bring animals. My boss is OK with it if it's very rarely and only for the purpose of giving one to someone... and it's small and can be left in a cage... but on Sat nights I only see one or two people besides those on my shift, and those one or two didn't mind my dog, so I did it anyhow ;) Might do it again this weekend? I know Buddjet enjoyed being there... he got to be played with, got to sleep near me, and got a bit of pizza crust (we order pizza on Sat nights)

I brought Sparky and Scooter to work two days last fall when I was having a new roof put on my house (I didn't want the buns in the house alone all day with the pounding on the roof). I set up an x-pen behind my desk with all their food and toys and they had a grand time. I had a steady stream of people in my office all day long admiring my beautiful girls. They didn't like the hour commute to and from work any better than I do though.

Not to my work, because I work in a chemical plant. Ugh.

But we have brought them to my hubby's work. He works at a halfway home for developmentally disabled adults. They love to hear about the bunnies and see pics, and he made a slideshow of pictures for them and put it on a DVD so they can watch it anytime they want. Last year for Easter he brought Fey in for them to pet. She was not happy. This year we brought Oberon, and he had a blast! He hopped around the living room in his harness, let everybody pet him, and some of the ladies kissed his nose!

He hates car rides but it's literally 5 minutes away. I just held him in my lap, and he was much happier than when he's in the carrier.

I can't bring mine to work, either, I work in the bakery dept of a grocery store. I think my bosses would frown heavily on having a bunny in there while we're baking! LOL It would be cool to work somewhere I could, though. There are soo many people there that could use a little bunny education.

My bunny came FROM work - I work in a wildlife hospital and he was an alleged "albino cottontail" who turned out to be a New Zealand White.

I did take him in once after I adopted him, but I am a little gun shy - every time I take him out of the house, something weird pops up with him. So now, he is my at home bunny only.
