Sweetie may have ear mites.......

Yeah an infection has a pretty unique smell. So you'd know.

I did smell Sweetie's ears and there isn't any bad smell. I cleaned her ears this morning, and will be using the mineral oil tonight on her ears. Now is it okay to use the mineral oil and the euclens otic cleanser in the same day? Like one in the morning and one at night or is it better to use one or the either?

I don't know about any of this ...... you aren't really sure that she has an ear infection???

I would be cautioustreating her ears without having a vet see her ; isn't there any way that you can do the care credit thing or let the vet know that you will pay the 1st of Oct. ?
Too much messing around with her ears when you are unsure about the procedures could make it worse.


This is not a home remedy , however, if it was ear mites she simply could have a dose of Revolution which would be so much more effective and so much less messy than what you are doing.

angieluv: all my money goes to my rent and my bills that are just as important. I know that she has ear mites because she has the same thing as last time she had them 2 years ago. I will keep an eye on her to make sure that nothing wrong happens. I will not let this get worse for her, she is my only bunny and my heart bunny.

I have said that I have absolutely no money to take her in and I am rather upset about that, but I am doing something about her ears at least. I have euclens otic cleanser which I have cleaned her ears two days already.

I have $14 on my care credit, that is not enough to take her in and they will not give me more credit for her. I have tried getting more credit.

Update: I have a friend who has a coupon for the vet here in Bremerton. She is letting me have it to take Sweetie to the vet. I am so happy that I am going to get Sweetie in to the vet and see if she has an ear infection due to ear mites or not.

So hopefully the vet will let me use it and Sweetie can be seen. Also so Sweetie can get better faster, I am hoping to get pain meds if they are needed.

Don't get your hope up folks, I may not be able to use the coupon as it is for a new pet. Sweetie isn't new. But we will see. I have emailed the vet so I will find out.

Well the vet isn't going to let me use the coupon for Sweetie. I am going to look into rabbit haven and see if they can help with assistance.

Does she seem to be getting any better? You have been putting a lot of stuff in her ears over the last few days, you should be noticing a difference if it is mites.

Oh yes she is getting better! I am going to continue the treatment until the 17th and see what happens after that. I will be getting ivermectin from a friend and revolution from another friend. I will dose her with the ivermectin that way I am sure the mites are going away and will stay away.
