That happens with the posts.
Cardboard & brown packing paper comprise Honey's safe chewing material. For some reason I can't get her to chew on any sticks. The flattened cardboard boxes will have to be overlapped a little & or taped together with duct tape on the back side. Otherwise those edges become the target for digging.
