I got 2 ladies about a month ago. I went to clean out the cage today and have 7 surprise babies. Problem: I can't tell which rabbit gave birth! One DOES seem to be missing some fur and she matches the fur in the cage the best. Is that the best way to tell or is there a better way? /: Both rabbits are ignoring (and were stepping on, before I got them in a nesting box) the babies.

Colors may be able to tell but that is not a guarantee especially if they are mixed breeds. Do you know who the sire is?

I've tried feeling does teats for milk but am usually unsuccessful. The only way to know is to find out who is feeding them. Moms usually feed late afternoon/night or early morning

They are both mixed and I don't know about the sire. /: I only have one buck and I haven't put them together, so I'm thinking they were pregnant when they came home with me. I'll try to tape the cage or something to figure out who is feeding.

One of the ladies seems to have some vaginal bleeding. She's the one that's NOT missing fur all over the cage though... and for all I know they're both giving birth. I got them at the same time from the same person. -.-

uh oh. that could be a possibility. Although I have heard of does in a colony setting pulling fur for other mommas litters.
The tell all thing would be to catch a mom feeding. Good luck
