I can't believe you're being charged because her check bounced. That's a pretty crappy set up. My bank will send any fees for a bounced check back to the person that wrote the check. It should be her bank that is straightening it out and charging her a big fee. Holy crap though...if she bounced a check of a small amount (as I'm imagining that was) she must not have anything in that account. Heck, my bank would even take money from my savings to pay a bouncy check from my checking account.

Do you have a name and address of the breeder that owes you money? Did you get a copy of the bounced check from your bank?

Thanks for the compliment on my little guy. I'm really praying that 4H family takes him. I had him out tonight to brush and let him run around my husband's wood shop. He was chasing my one cat in there. :) He just has a great mane and body structure. I'd love to see someone show him as I think he'd be great for that.

Too bad I didn't know about your mini lop...I'm a sucker for minis. I can't imagine going to an auction and finding a mini there...I'd totally cry and have to buy all of them. I'd have hundreds of bunnies if I went there. It's probably best if I stay away as I'm one of those bleeding hearts.

Just wanted to update- she emailed me back. She was actually really nice and apologized-I kinda feel bad but at least I got a reply.

I did send payment out I put it in the drop box late saturday afternoon on dec 13 so it would go out til monday and I have already contacted the bank for a stop payment on the check since you havent got it yet and am remailing you a payment out again this time by money order should go out tuesday. I apologize for the inconvience for you and thank you for your understanding, yours wasnt the only thing that got lost in that mail drop too, I had sent in my cell phone bill and it didnt show up either so I had to go and stop payment on that and pay it at the store. So I am not sure what happened to it. But I assure you I keep my word. I had sent you a previous email to see if you had got it yet, guess it never made it to you though I sent the email before christmas. The same time I mailed yours, I also mailed my mother in law her christmas card and when she got it. Her mail carrier had it wrapped up with rubberbands cause it caught in a machine and was shredded a bit. So I havent been avoided you at all. I have only access to a computer a bit when I could go to library when my computer was being debugged luckliy its under warrenty for a bit longer.

Thanks all for the advice-hopefully it will all work out. I was a little upset yesterday about the whole ordeal, thanks for letting me 'get it all out'. Murph-I'm sorry to hear about your little lionhead guy-he's a real cutie, surely he'll find a forever home soon.:)

I'm glad she replied, but her story sounds extremely fishy. She keeps saying she's sent you the payment, but you've never gotten it...this could be the same way....

Something just doesn't sound right with her e-mail reply....:?I guess you'll just have to wait and see if you do get the payment or not.

I did once have a breeder that didn't give me the pedigrees I paid for. I sent her a certified letter stating that I was going to take it to the court system and put on there that I sent a carbon copy to my lawyer. Within two days I had the pedigrees.

That sounds like the situation I'm in with my sheeps' breeder. I have one lambs' registration papers, but not the other. I've sent tons of e-mails. I bought them back in June...got one of their papers in maybe September/October? The guy never replies to my e-mails or anything, but it's really getting me mad.

Seriously, just call them. You'd be surprised how easy it is to forget/ignore an email. It's much more memorable when you're talking to a real voice.

I would call if I could find the sales papers I was given with the sheep :p. I have my lambs' around here somewhere, and my sisters' is in her room someplace as well.

ETA: Found my sisters' lambs reg. papers. Going to look him up in the phone book and give him a call. :)

I don't find pedigreed rabbits there often at all. Floppy made the third pedigreed rabbit that i pulled out of there myself. THey've had papered angora's and lion heads there but I don't really like the long haired ones there. The mix breds or nonpapered purebreds are typically what's there- backyard accidentall breedings. alot of them go to meat shops in NYC (Just so you are all aware)

The tort dutch doe and the opal mini rex doe i pulled them out just to end up putting them to sleep from what their past owners did to them.

Far too sad. I'd be bawling and losing sleep over it. Certain people can handle working rescues. I think I'd be a basket case and have a farm filled with too many animals. My respect is to anyone that can save these bunnies and feel good doing it. I'd be too worried about the ones I couldn't save. Too sad. :(
