I have a black lop, who is currently sick with pasturella (sneezing lots with white stuff coming out of her nostrils). She is on a 3 month course of Baytril, BeneBac and a Booster formula.

However, in addition to having pasturealla she has mushy cecotropes (night feces) - as you can see in the article below. Her regular poo is fine though, nice big hard and firm poop balls.

I don't know if her mushy night feces are related to her pasturella or not, or if I'm feeding her bad hay (perhaps it contains too much fiber) - but I don't think the hay is a problem since my 2 other bunnies are fine, or I should stop feeding her vegetables and just have her eat hay and water like the article suggest.

If you read the article, you will see the picture of what her mushy night feces look like.

Perhaps someone that has gone through this similar experience can help me, it's been too long that my bunny has had this problem!

Her mushy night feces (ceotropes) have a terrible smell too!

and another picture, is this normal?

The ceco's in that picture look perfectly normal to me. They ARE smelly, and mushy if you pick them up and squeeze (paper towel is your friend).

I had a problem with my bun leaving these all over and sometimes she would sit or step on them so they'd look malformed. After lots of experimenting with diet I eliminated a couple of veggies that seemed to cause her to over produce them but more importantly, I switched her to pure Timothy hay. It has less protien than the other hays and since then I haven't seen (or more importantly smelled!) any excess ceco's.

If it were my decision, I'd switch to pure Timothy hay, find a list of veggies that are high moisture and low protein and wait out the course of medication.
