Can rabbits squeal in their sleep? A few minutes ago, I heard a squealing sound coming from where the bunnies' cages are. It sounded like a guinea pig. Not excessively loud or bone chilling, just weird as heck. I looked over and everyone is resting. Rory was lying on his side sound asleep (he's a heavy sleeper). He's awake now and looks fine. Could he or one of the other bunnies have squealed in their sleep?

I've only heard bunnies squeal like that if they're *reallllly* injured badly. Being that your bunnies weren't injured, I don't know. I heard a wild one that our neighbors cat caught squealing. I chased the cat throwing a bag of garbage at it. :') lol It was dark and i was screaming at the top of my lungs at the cat. Quite a funny sight. Anyway, I don't know if they'll squeal other than that..I guess anythings possible though..

Perhaps he had a nightmare? If animals can dream, which literature suggests they can, it would only be logical that they could have bad dreams too. Perhaps he was getting chased by a cat or something in his dream. Poor bunner.

I've seen my bunnys kick their legs like they're trying to walk, and move their mouth like they're eating in their sleep.

Do you mean the high pitched 'wheeking' sound guinea pigs make, or just the normal talking sound? If it's the normal, sorta 'gurgling' talking sound, it could be a respiratory infection. I've never had a rabbit with a respiratory infection, but I do know that's what my rats sound like when they're sick. :)
