Hello, :) We are a bit new to this whole Rabbit game but enjoy the hell out of our little girl.

:biggrin::biggrin2:
Her name is Spikey and she was born on May 10th. So she is still a baby to us.
Me and my wife have always had pets in our life's, dogs or cats, so when we got our condo and were told no dogs were allowed our hearts sank :(
a few months went by and my mom called me up at work and said one of the sales reps bunny's had babies. Photos were sent and we fell in love almost instantly.
Me and the wife decided to go ahead and get her because there are no plans of kids anytime soon, and no dogs allowed .

And now we have our own little girl. :)
Her name is Spikey, born May 10th 2011, she is a pure lop ear, and is currently being spoiled.

:big wink:

I have more photos, and more recent ones, but they are all on my facebook and unfortunately I cannot access it here at work. :(

The first photo is the first one we ever got of her.
The second one was when she discovered the diet coke box on the kitchen floor.

She is potty trained, and were working on the whole come when your name is called thing lol.
When we first got her, one of her ears would always hang, and the other would always be perked up just like in the photos.
Still does it when she sleeps :) so dam cute.

A little about us.
Young married couple, 1 1/2 years now :)
I am a Archery Instructor, a shipping clerk, and a Volvo Enthusiast.
Wife is a Cashier and Going to school to be a nurse.

She is Colombian and I am American, And we plan to spend alot of time here with our bunny learning and loving. :) Will post more photos tonight.

Hi welcome to RO.

Spikey is adorable:inlove:. Are you planning on getting her spayed? It is much healthier for them especially females. Do you think you will get her a mate. Seeing 2 bonded bunnies in love together is honestly the BEST.

Looking forward to more pictures and stories of your little one.

Susan:):happyrabbit:

She is SSSOOOOOOO cute! I love her colors. :inlove:

It's much easier to bond fixed pairs, otherwise fighting and being territorial can be a huge issue. I have a little lop as well. It sounds funny until you see it, but bunny rage is terrifying. My little babies going at it trying to kill eachother was the worst thing in the world.

:) I will be talking to a few vets this weekend about getting her fixed.

Spent the last 2 hours scrubbing her cage and letting her run around the house, then put her in the bed with my wife because shes filling under the weather and wanted spikey for a little bit. :)

Anyways, took these tonight while we were hanging in the corner with one of her toys haha.

I would like to welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

Many bunnies’ recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

She is beautiful!

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

Here are somelinks I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*The House Rabbit Society has a lot of good information on what veggies are safe for bunny’s, etc.

*Here is a link to learn what your furry master is trying to say to you How to Understand Your Bunny's Language

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How to Bond with Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

Don’t hesitate to ask questions and I am glad you have joined rabbits online; I look forward to seeing you around.

Thanks for all the welcomes :)
Saturday was her first trip to get shots at the vet and to get her nails clipped back a little as she started learning how to dig and enjoys running around on the carpet.

So yeah on Saturday we got up nice and early to take the wife to work and then headed out to our favorite vet (mainly because they are the only one in our area who will touch anything outside of dogs and cats)

She went in for her shots and to get her nails cut.
Once we got home she didn't move much, probably because it was her first time getting shots.
So I plopped her up on the couch, she walked around a little bit then fell asleep next to me.

So I got on the laptop and took care of the usual weekend stuff, Facebook, car forums, other random things.
Next thing I knew she was nudging my arm to move so she could climb up onto my lap.

:) She is just so cute when she is asleep.:biggrin2:

Hi Robert,

Can I askwhat shots your bunny got? Mine have never had any shots in the 13 years I have had bunnies.:?

Susan:)

oops my bad.

We just got her some blood work and such done (ears, eyes the good stuff).
should have clarified what kind of shots

I asked about rabies and they told me its highly unlikely that she would ever need something for that.

Plan on keeping her till she decides its time to go, so we want to make sure she is completely healthy and has the right diet.
Just giving her the same treatment I have given all my animals/pets.

Oh gosh! She loks exaclty like my little Luther! Is she a Sooty Fawn by any chance? :) Because he's exactly the same colour, dark nose and ears and all :p She gorgeous :)

So cute! You seem to really be enjoying her!! Welcome to the forum, and we all enjoy photo's of everyone furry babies and look forward to seeing more of yours ,
