Sores on rabbits front paw nail beds?

My rabbit is a 2 year old Holland Lop, weighs a few ounces over 5 lbs. I was attempting to trim his nails, when I noticed sores? around his nails. In place of his normal nail beds, they were pink and puffy. I've read that this could be infection, but I don't know if that's the case with my rabbit because I've kept his cage pretty clean. Please help my bun and I! <3 :happybunny: :bunnydance:

Ulcerative pododermatitis, or bumblefoot, is a bacterial infection of the skin; specifically, the skin of the back feet and hocks if its on a wire cage floor this is probally it.

Hi there! Did you ever figure out what was happening with your bunnies paws? My bunny is having the same problem and after 3 vet visits I still don’t have a solution so am trying to do my own research

I have one rabbit that paws at the bars on the door of her cage sometimes when she wants my attention or wants to get out. That has caused sores on her front paw before. Could it be something she is doing?
