How did you let him down? He could have had some internal issue going on because of bad genetics. GP's are rodents, just like ratties...illness and issues come on so sudden. You did the right thing by getting him to the vet.

No way did you let him down! You got him to the vet as soon as you noticed he was sick. You did everything you could. He was a very lucky guinea pig to have you...

I'm so sorry, I wish I could make it better for you

I know in my head I did what I could but I in my heart I feel like I let him down. He looked for me and I left him. The last thing I heard was him squeal and the vet tell him that I would pick him up the next day.

Many will say he was just a guinea pig but he wasn't he was ours. Mine, Robs, Amys and even Pegs.

I will be getting his ashes. I am going to call tomorrow and let them know that is what we want.

For those who may not know - Amy's guinea pigs (now Alicia's) lived here for a few months before they went to Alicia.

I still say he knew he was loved and he had an AWESOME home with you....you did all you could.

I know the words don't help much - but they are true...

I'm so sorry, Ali. Try as best you can not to blame yourself, I know how hard that is. That's what I did for months, remember? You are a wonderful pet mom to many animals, you know tons about all you have. This wasn't your fault, hon. You did everythiing you should've and could've done.

I'm so sorry of your losses.:sad:

RIP sweeties, your mommy loves you...
