Yesterday I called my parents to say "hi" and to catch up with them and their going-ons...
Mom and I spoke for a while, and she mentioned their underground fence system for the dogs (7 of them) went out ina recent storm. She let me know Dad was having to go to get new wire, as he was replacing 1,500 feet on the north side of the house.
I let her know I had a new roll of 500' they could have... and I mentioned an unused/unneeded dog pen I have.
Dad decided to come to the house to get the pen and wire. No problem. I expected him so I was outside in the back letting Aiden (flemish) run in the enclosure I have.
I wish you guys could have seen his eyes when he came around to the back yard!!
Then, of course, he said that I better not let my Mom know about the rabbit as she wouldn't approve. (keep in mind rabbits aren't known as pets around here) I was stumped for a minute and asked why - and he said she loves animals and wouldn't understand my "raising meat rabbits".
Naturally I was shocked for a minute then laughed. Everyone here but Ibimi (my dutch with liver problems) is fixed, I have no breeding intentions.... but he was just stunned that people have such big rabbits "AS PETS!?!"
I just rolled my eyes...
In the end though, Dad and Aiden got to know each other some and he relented that "for a huge rabbit" he does have a good personality.
