Belle was in sootys cage and she pooped and her poop was so little, is something wrong with her? Is this a sign of something? i looked because i thought someone elses posted something about this but i couldnt find it.

Is this something that has just happened? Or has slowly been coming on? Ususally this is a sign that more water is needed in the diet. Not a sign of dehydration pre se, just that she's not drinking enough. Do you use a bottle or bowl for her? If you use a bottle, I would add a bowl as well. See how she does and if it still doesn't seem like she's drinking more, then you could add some apple juice or pediatlyte to her water for a little flavoring to get her to drink more. Let us know how she does!;)

Yeah, she could be getting a bit sluggish - so you want to add fiber, and water. I'm working with Bo's diet right now due to the same thing and lack of poos and we think bloat.

He's doing much better - Is she Molting? Bo was / is and that was a huge part of his I think.

A couple of people told me to get flax seed and add just a bit to the food but he's not touching it.

Pumpkin is great if they like it - Bo likes it after we make him realize he likes it - every time we try to feed it to him LOL! Clover thinks it's heaven!

I have decreased his pellets, and he thinks he's starving. I have always given him plent of hay but he's eating more since he's starving to death (doesn't he look like it?)

it has just happened, well i think it was just today, i will have to see what the rest of the day brings. She drinks water from a bottle and when she is in sooty's cage she drinks his water as well. i am going to check her bottle and make sure that nothing is wrong with it. She isnt shedding, but she does groom him and bites at his back while mounting him so i wonder if she has his fur in her stomach? i will start giving her pumpkin, she doesnt get it on a regular basis but i do give it when i see she is shedding alot. they havent been eating alot of hay, but itis usually hit or miss with the hay, sometimes they seem like i cant keep enough in there andthen there is times where they dont really touch it.

i will have to keep in mind the applejuice, and pedialyte just in case..

Gonna move this to the infirmary for ya. There you'll get more help from people that are knowledgeable in bunny health issues. (Not that you didn't already encounter some! :D)

Hugs!

Good advice there from AngelnSnuffy - I often find that buns who drink from bottles can never seem to get enough water. I stopped using bottles many years ago.

Bebe is like that. When you introduce new foods, she won't touch it, but once she finds out how good it is, she can't get it fast enough. :p

Bo, try sprinkling some flax seed on top of the pumpkin.

Theicequeen99121, do you have Nutri-Cal? Try some apple slices, as they are good fiber.

To be on a totally different wavelength, I've found that some of my buns, when in another buns territory will squeeze out poos to mark the territory (or maybe make themselves feel safer there) even if they don't need to go. Often I'vce seen them do this and then have regular poos afterwards. Maybe it could be this?

i thought that could be that , so hopefully that is it. the only out of the ordinary thing i seen was that when i went in to get everyones bowls she still had some pellets left, which she usually doesnt have anything left.

well yesterday i gave her pumpkin and i checked her water bottle, she ate the pumpkin and her water bottle is working fine. She isnt acting like anything is wrong but i kept her in her cage for the day until she gave up the :litterhealthy:

This morning when i went to collect the bowls and boxes she had about 1/5 of her pellets left, which again is odd because she usually eats all of them, and there was lots of poop in her box. Some of the poop was her normal size but there was still some of the smallish poo in there. She ate her veggies no prob this morning, and she mounts sooty no prob, lol. So i guess at this p oint i will just keep monitoring her poo to make sure that she keeps pooping and peeing and eating. i wonder if she does things like this every once in a while tosee if i am paying attention ,lol :popcorn2 , i get told i pay way to much attention to things like that, but that is ok.

No you don't...... we are supposed to keep an eye on our little monsters! LOL!

Bo had a bunch of poos last night and then there was this itty bitty teeny little poo about the size of a dragee (silver balls used to decorate cookies) or bb. I was thinking WHAT ON EARTH!?

ANyhow, she might not have eaten the rest of her pellets cause she had the pumpkin. She may be very precise in her eating amounts. I swear bunnies have OCD!

Also, I would go ahead and give her some pumpkin today if you can. Encourage the hay if you can.

did you load them in a BB gun and shoot them at someone, lol :biggrin2:

Is it ok to give pumpkin everyday? i was going to give it tommorrow but if it is ok i will give some today too. i also didnt think about the pumpkin filling her up.

yeah, how much are you giving her? does she like it?

I know a lot of people give their bunnies a tsp or so each day during heavy molts. Some people give them more.

We need big fluffy poos not hard bb's..... I don't need ammo! LOL!

i think i gave her , it was a real small ceramic bowl, about 1 1/2 teaspoons of it, so i can give her more. i guess i will give it to her tonight when i lock them in forthe night.
