My friend called me and told me that her rabbit was shaking and had a faster heart beat. I am pretty sure that it is the cause of being scared from the fireworks and she is having a block party. But she said that her rabbits teeth is yellow and looks rotten.... I don't look at a lot of rabbits teeth so I'm not sure what to say. Anyone?

Hi there! Do you have any updates? How is the rabbit now?

The yellow/rotten teeth doesn't sound good either. What kind of a diet was she on, do you have any idea maybe from bags sitting around, etc?

I'm really not sure, I hope someone will be along soon to assist further.:)

If there are fireworks and loud noises happening on her street, then that could definately be the reason for the shaking scared rabbit. I guess it's a bit late now... but in the future, maybe moving the rabbit indoors temporarily if he's outside into a quieter area, or making sure he has lots of places to hide if he's scared and doesn't feel too exposed. Also you friend could try covering his cage or enclosure with a sheet or towel to block off any strange lights from the fireworks that may be scary as well.

About the teeth - is the rabbit in any kind of pain - is it eating properly? What is it eating? Does it get unlimited hay? These are all questions to ask your friend. If she isn't educated on proper rabbit nutrition, then you should help her to learn about it - maybe direct her to this site so she can get more information. If the teeth look rotten, she may want to take it to the vet to get it looked at because who knows what other issues may go along with the rotting teeth (eg. infections, other dental issues). It may only be a matter of time before the bun goes into stasis if it's not eating right.

Hope this helps.

I am pretty sure that my friend took her rabbit to the vet. I am not exactly sure if her bunny gets unlimited hay. I have directed her to this site but she never came on.... I will try again. I told her that rabbit teeth keep growing and she said that she didn't know that and her rabbit was still eating fine.

ok that rabbit is mine. Her name is trixie and she is doing quite better. i brought her inside on the 4th of july and she was OK. But i think that her teeth problem started before i even got her. The other day was the 1st that she let me take a look in her mouth . So the vet is way too expensive for my family right now, but i'll try to get her there soon!!!!!!!! thanks everyone for caring about my rabbit, you are very thoughtful!!:)
