Shedding?

Howdy

Belle is shedding like crazy. :?I keep brushing her, but it seems that it's not helping; no matter how much I brush her, the shedding is continuous, and she seems to be shedding alot of fur.

Any suggestions on what I could do?

Hi ChandieLee, my bun sheds like crazy too!! Lets hope someone can help us!

-I need to get a brush, but like you, I don't think that'll help much. She has a fan on her throughout the day (no air conditioning in the house) and it just blows everywhere!!!

usually shedding lasts 2 or 3 weeks.anything longer than that sometimes its because the rabbit is overweight.if thats not the case it might be the feed.bluebird

how so w/ the feed?? just the brand or something?

with my rabbits i usually give them a bath and then use my 1.75inch furminator brush to get the undercoat hair out and a comb for the top coat.

I find that making your hands damp and rubbing them over the rabbit is usually quite effective after brushing, and the hair sticks instead of flying off everywhere!

It's called molting, and it happens every summer. My bunny barn looks like a fur blizzard right now, LOL. Buzz is molting so hard you can barely see into his cage! I have to peel the layers of fur off of his water dish every morning.

does anyone use the small soft bristle brushes from like petco/petsmart that have the bunny on the handle?

i'm looking for something that really works because layla is shedding really bad

i use the small slicker brushes. They seem to work pretty well for me.

My Jess is molting like mad at the moment she has got patches of long fur down her sides and not in the middle (she looks like she has a mohican on her sides haha) I brushed her for ages yesterday and used damp hands did the same thing this morning and there was loads more fur she looks a right state hehe

use the furminator small size. a lot of hair comes out but it is worth the money and time when it comes to shedding.
