Does anyone have a Satin rabbit? How are theregeneral temperments? I'm thinking of adding another female to my crew(once Corky's better)...and having 2 females, 2 males..even up the mixa bit. This beautiful girl as at the local shetler:http://www.arl-iowa.org/Adopt/PetProfile.asp?IDNo=121862

Would love to know more info about em! There are several of this breed at the shelter...something I should know about? ;)

Thanks!

The Satins are one of the more docile commercialbreeds. I've always been impressed by their demeanor and havehandled quite a few Satins. We also raised them fora short time (currently have one copper doe).

The are quite a stunning breed. I recently judged a Satinspecialty show andpicked a Cal Satin for open Best In Show atthe last show I judged.

The santinized coat is a fur structure mutation first documentedin 1931. Their hair shaft is thinner, smootherand more transparent than a normal hairshaft. Under a microscope, it has the appearanceofstrands of glass-- very pretty.

Currently in the works -- the Mini Satin.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.Homer is going in tomorrow for the big chop, Corky was supposed to butsince he's fighting his other battle thats gonna wait another coupleweeks, vet said we'll talk about that at his 10 day check. Then its bonding for Oreo (don't think it'll take much as they getalong well anyway) then I'm going to look into adding the 4th into themix. Then I'm gonna have to call that enough bunnies forawhile!

Went and met her today..WOW..what a lil doll!! Iknow the lady that runs the bunny program there as I'm working with herwith Oreo being a therapy bunny...so I left a note for her to call metomorrow! :)

Well, here she is!! Her shelter name isMisty...dunno if I'll keep it or not...so if anyone has any cool ideas, let me know!! She's a real sweet heart and sat with me in thechair for about 45 minutes...she did some pulling on my shirt and gotme a couple times...but a tap on the nose and a sharp no has alreadygotten that under control!

Here she is! I just love her unusual markings!

What a beautiful girl...........She looks sodifferent from the shelter picture of her. Hermarkings are different and her fur looks so soft and silky. And she's only six months old.

Rainbows!

She's beautiful! The Siamese color maychange a lot with each molt and the color has a tendency tobeappear very "splotchy", especially when a new coat isgrowing in.

It is very rare that I see a bunny that I wantto go and bunnynap or wish I had....but she is GORGEOUS! Areyou sure she isn't on her way to me here in Texas? Tiny lovesbunny friends....tonight they were climbing all over him and groominghim and he laid there and just let them bounce on him almost.

You know...if my dwarfs could be brought around like they havebeen....I'm beginning to think that with LOTS of love andpatience....almost any bunny could eventually be brought around.

At least I'd LIKE to think that!
