Iam in northeast Ohio (Medina County,if you look on the map - south of Cleveland). I could driveeast to the Indiana border or a little way into Indy and then drivewest on the Turnpike to the Ohio//PA border. I could probablygo as far as Clarion, PA (right off of the freeway and not far fromYoungstown, OH) or head south down closer to Pittsburgh. Itcould be done in one day but it would be a very long day. Orbunny could spend the night at my house and resume the trip the nextmorning.

If it's during the week I would need a week or a fewdaysnotice to request time off work. My boss isflexible and that's not a problem for me. Hee, hee I don'tmindusing a day or 2 vacation for a good cause.

If you think this might help, let me know and I will PM my contactinformation and if you need a reference, I can give the names of myvets and the director of our local shelter in the PM.

When I was looking for a doe to breed withBunbun, the only option was a rabbit mill/meat breeder in the area. I'dknown him through 4-H, and he was the ONLY Pal breeder. I borrowed abig golden doe that had no name, just a number, and dubbed her "Tank"because of her propotions.

It was the saddest thing I've ever seen. The place is indescribable.Tank lived with a buck permanently, but gave birth to only one litterand killed them all. She came to my house (alreadypregnant--surprise!!)--raised a beautiful litter of 4, then gotpregnant by Bunbun and gave birth to a litter of NINE after 35 days ofpregnancy. All survived in glowing health, and she was a GREAT mother. She is Bub's mom.

When the babies were weaned, she had to go back. I nearly cried.

Tank is terrified of being touched and held, but really tried tointeract when she was here. It was a long slow process (beginning withher trying to remove chunks from my arm!), but in the end she wouldjump on my chest when I opened the door and grab treats. But eventouching her nose, she'd cringe and run. She'd go from happy to utterterror in a second. Tank weighs somewhere between 11 and 14 lbs., andis quite formidable, but oh so sad.

After being here, she has refused every buck since. She LOVED Bunbun, and he was such a gentle little Romeo. He courted her so sweetly--nottypical male rabbit!!

Only about 2-3 yrs. old, she's had a rough life. We've got to get herout--please, can someone help? I'll drive to meet someone going thatway....

Please, help us!

Rose

There is another board I have belonged to for 2years. We have done several bunny trains - British Columbiato California and Ohio to NY and Ohio to SC. There aremembers in NY and one has offered to fly our rescued bunnies in hisprivate plane. If needed I could ask the other members tohelp with a bunny train. Most of these people are personallyknown to me as we have had several meet ups over the last 2years. I don't know if Mike would be available to fly (he isa patent attorney and busy) but I could ask. A lot depends onthe weather too since it's a very small plane. Let me know ifyou want me to ask my other friends.

You can check out some of the pages of the Buckeye House Rabbit Societyfor information about Finn and DQ. These are 2 of the rabbitswe have bunny trained.http://www.ohare.orgFinn to NY and DQ to South Carolina

my brother is a long haul truck driver, and hefrequently travels down around the east states. Although he cannotdivert from his route, if by chance he is in the right place, i'm surehe'd help.

What is the timeline/route of Tank's journey?

Nicole

Depending on the timing of everything, I may beable to help. There is a possibility I could help the weekendof the 27th. I'm in southern WI and if needed, I might beable to go get her (and any others) and take her to an airport oranother person along the line, if they aren't too far. Iwon't be able to do a whole lot, but I'll help if I can.

FANTASTIC NEWS!! ...once i get word if i candefinately have off for that show on the 18th if it is easier forsomeone to get to jersey (even if its a few days before and i have tobunny sit) ill come up with bun in tow for you Gypsy.

Oh Rose, Gypsy I really hope you get somethingsorted. I remember you getting Tank, but I had no idea the ordeal shewent through before you had Bub. I remember you being really upset whenshe went back, but I didn't know that was why.

PrayingTank gets that loving forever home that she deserves.

What an amazing thing that she'salive!

Will pray very very hard so that she can get to Gypsy sooner rather than later.

We need to get Tank from northwestern WI to New Hampshire. Timeline isflexible, but we were thinking of getting her to either the Indianaconvention (shoot! what were those dates again??) or the Goshen, CTshow.

Naturestee, I might be able to get her to you if we can connect her toNHfrom there. Send me a PM and we can talk about it!

I might be able to help from my end.My Mom's fiance is a truck driver. He's often inIndiana. Like Nicole's brother, he couldn't deviate from hisroute, but maybe if someone could meet him, I could convince him tohelp out. If nothing else, he could get her to me.I could probably take her a little further into PA. She couldstay here as long as necessary if someone could help later. Icould also meet Ann in Clarion with no problem. We would justhave to figure it out from there. I may be in Baltimore themiddle of September, and could take her to there, if that would do anygood.

Re: Flying, I think Ohio is as farfrom mid-state NY that Mike has flown. He has used the MedinaCounty Airport which is just a few miles south. He has asmall plane, I believe some type Piper. FAA rules do notpermit him to accept payment for flights since he isn't a commercialpilot. In the past, I think we made a contributiontoa rabbit rescue to say thanks.

He flew his mini-rex from near Ithaca, NY to Ohio last year and thenback in the evening. All went well but then Scone is a young, healthy rabbit.I'll go ahead and make a tentative inquiry and see ifanyone is available. It would be great if this could be donebefore the snow starts. Do have any tentative dates?

If flying doesn't work out, then I am still available todrive. August 27-28 are booked up for me since my cat shelterhas a booth at the Sacred Cat of Burma Show in Medina. It's abig money maker for us - selling beds, quilts, etc. The endof September a friend is stopping on her way from Ontario to MammothCaves in KY. She recently rehomed her bunny to me and shewants to visit - just a few hours. I also have a work meetingin Columbus, OH on 09/22 that is a must attend. Everythingelse is open.
