I swear I learn something everytime I come here! I think I need to start taking notes!! LOL

I feed oats 3 times a week. They get 1 T. per 5 lbs. bodyweight. My vet gave me this, but I don't know where he gotit. I give them pumpkin 2 times a week in about the samemeasure. I think I should be giving them more now becausethey are shedding??? Does the amount sound right?Should I give them more or just more frequently?

On the freezing stuff note, I freeze everything. I actuallyhavea chest freezer devoted only to critter food.I've never had a problem with any of it.

Having this postbumped back around I noted that my last post was in October. Well, Idid dump the old feed and ended up buying new.

I got Purina this time and put the extrain large ziplock bags and I actually didn't store them in the freezeras I was short on freezer space, but they are in my extra refrigeratorin the garage! I figured it was cool, dark, and bug free.

It has been fine so far. Sebastiancertainly does eat the Purina feed much better than he ever ate theother brand. However I have noted some changes in his coat and moultingpatterns which I intend to ask our ever knowing Pam Nock about!

I really with that Purina brand was available uphere for rabbits. It is for cats and dogs of course, but not rabbits. Ieven emailed the company a while back and they gave me the reasons, butstill.

Hopefully if we move back to the States soon, I'll be able to make the switch over.

Meanwhile, my rabbits continue to adore oats, when I give it to them at least.

What changes in his coat, Raspberry??

He seems to bemoulting more often and much heavier. He also seems to have a differentkind of fur this time. Maybe more guard hair, which would be good, butI find it strange that a feed could do that....

I did some research though and I did find a breeders site that saidsomething about protein percentages I think, and the relation to showcoats and such, so maybe that is the reaction I'm seeing.

Greetings Raspberry,

Check out the post on Molting/Shedding. Protein percentages definitely plays a part in molting.
