It appears to be from a sickness and starvation. It was very weak and didn't move a lot, we believe that was one of thegirls but she is not sure and I have not seen them since the incident.I really hope I can start to feed them. I am even going to feed them awhole bunch of the sweet feed so that they will put some weight on.:(

Technically, a REW (ruby eyed white) is a pure white rabbit (albino).

The rabbits with red eyes and point color are called Californian, Pointed White, or Himalayan marked depending on breed.

Napoleon's eyes appear to be blue and pink at the same time.I really don't know how to explain it. Is that normal?

Anyway, do albinos have more sensitive eyes? I had himoutside yesterday and he kept going over to the shade. ShouldIkeep him inside if it's sunny?

It's not unusual for some to show a purple tint.

In cases of a rabbit suffering from pneumonia, the eyes will turn purple/blue due to lack of oxygen in the bloodstream.

Albinos do not have pigment to protect the eye -- so yes, their eyes are more sensitive to light.

I'm fascinated by eyes (ok, maybe a littlemorbid)-- they are my favorite dissectingsubject-- I like to study the lenses, and remove the pigmentgranules to look at them under a microscope.

We ended up not getting them because she wantedus to pay $100 dollars for all of them including 2 cages (or 1 cage and1 traveling carrier). My mom refused to pay it. But, I don't know howthey are doing now.

Can't you send an E-mail to the house rabbitsociety...I know in other cases of cruelty they have intervened for therabbits, and in some cases prosecuted people for cruelty. It wouldn'thurt to try.

Yes she would just rather kill them!! I thinkshe would enjoy it, I have reported them to the SPCA but they saidsince I don't have any photo proof (she wont let them be taken or havetheir pics taken ) that all they can do is give her a warning!

Personally I'd try to sneak a photo or two andsuch but that's just me (I'm a bit of a trouble maker I guess). If youcan get some other people to complain (not like your mom and dad butother neighbors) they generally go and check the place out, at least Ithink that's how it works. Otherwise I kind of wonder what's the pointbecause if she won't let them have their pictures taken then the photoproof is inadmissable I think...bleh, I really don't know I'm not alawyer-_-

Just good luck in getting those buns! I'm keeping my fingers crossed :?

That so heartwrenching! :(:(:(:( I am soterribly sad to hear this...what is wrong with people that they canenjoy watching an animal suffer...

tell her that u are logged into the website thatthere are people on here that are interested in paying the $100 butthey would like to see them and get that photo to the spca:(sat here trying not to cry at this story - how horrible isthat? what a cow bag :(

Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread. It'smaking me feel sick! If I were you, I'd keep on bugging the humanesociety and the SPCA.

If one of my so called "friends" were doing this, I'd take all fourregardless of not having a cage, put them in the bathroom or somethingwith lots of food and water and figure something out. And I'd reportthem. This is animal cruelty, plain and simple

Nimue has had a purple eye his whole life....what would it be then? :? I have just always thought he was blind in one eye.

i would report her to the humane society anyhow.tell them what the situation is, how bad of shape thew rabbitsare in, and where she is keepong them. Just watch for anyagression, and such if you end up housing them together. Id try toborrow a cage(maybe an olddog cageor even a coupleof pet carriers will work)from somewhere and keep themseparated by sex. If you can't keep them, or find homes for them, theni'd suggest taking them to the spca, or locating a rabbit rescue in thearea who is willing to take them and put them up for adoption.

It's such a vile andabhorrent thingfor a person to treat any animal that way:X:X:X. Many peoplethink that animals should work on their schedule and will feed/waterthem whenever "it suites their schedules". I find that petty and low, what motivates me when it's late at night and i've just gotten homefrom something is to put me in their paws...wouldn't you want someoneto feed/water/love you if you were cooped up in a cage???!???
