I today made the decision to report a local petshop that was over run with rabbits'mice 'rats all in terrible livingconditions'and a lot of the rabbits had diarrhoea. The smell was overpowering'i have not said anything up to now as i wanted to see if theywould improve the living conditions but after fridays visit i new i hadto act.At the moment i'm waiting for the rspca to get back in contactfor their report. I hope i have done the right thing the owners ateenage girl and her mother come across as friendly but seem a bitslow'and seem to be oblivious to what is going on around them.

I most certainly will'this sort of thing does'nthappen that often in pet shops here they are all normally very good' ithink it's because they are new and have'nt had enough educating orwhat ever it is you have to do to own a pet shop

The situation at this pet shop has got worsethis morning 'after going in this morn to check things out to myhorror:shock: nearly all the rabbits were gone'i asked the owner werethe rabbits had gone' and she said she had sold them'in a day and ahalf 10+rabbits i don't think so. I also found two adult rabbitscrambed into a cage so small one had to stay in the bedding area whilethe other stayed in the living area. I'm absolutely digusted with thisand promptly came home and updated this to the rspca'I am so:growl::mad:

Hi onnie

That is usual for a Pet Shop back home ! I know that whenever I'm backhome I always check the local pet stores, and at my last visit home(end of last month), I can say that all is well.

You go get them !!!!!

**" The trouble is any one can own a pet shop you don't need any knowledge or experience "**

BUT they do need to be licensedby the state to sell small animals, also get ahold ofthe Agraculture Dept theywill put you onto whoyou need to report too ,. Theywill see to it they are never allowedto have a license ora pet shop again.

Thanks i hope to hear something tomorrow'let youknow what happens when i get any news and it better be soon because ican't get those eyes out of my head.:tears2:

Not over here they don't

The trouble is if they do dochecks they usually inform the owner before hand, and make anappointment, this way the owners have time to clean up andsort things out. STUPID I know

The rspca will not be doing that they turn upunexpected'and they have to follow up all complaints.I also have thesupport from the mums at my daughters school who feel exactely the sameas me but have'nt done anything about it.The shop is round the cornerfrom the school

I hope things have improved... I am sorry but Iwan't to know... What happened to the +10 rabbits? Am I just being alittle slow here? I doubt that someone decided to come in and buy allof them!

Hey NO fairI didnt get any phonecall yesterday when theAG dept came for inspection , BTW Ipassed with flying colors andsuch 98% whohoooo , could havegiven me back my 2 pointsfor the securitycamera install next week tho . lol , Theway I see it is IF you havenothing nasty hanging on youyou shouldnt need a warningphone call , and allinspections should be done witha no call ,no warning aspect . Thatway The AG dept can correctand shut down whenever necessary ,JMO but I truely dontmind surprise inspections , and anyonein this buisness shouldnteither .

My hubby is a chef and the kitchen he works ingets a phone call, and a appointment usually the appointment forinspection is a week later, so the boss takes over time to have a goodclean, I just don't understand how they work??
