Hey

Someone which can help me? Seen this before, know what it can be, a idea to what I can do - anything

My rabbit has a rash on the nose.

This is a old image of it, it is worse to day. If it helps I can take a new picture.

My veterinarian do not know what to do. Wee have tried Surolan Vet.

thank you in advance

With it being on the nose, it could very well be vent disease, or rabbit syphilis(not the same as the human one). You may also find lesions around the genitals. If it is rabbit syphilis, it will need to be treated with penicillin G injections (NEVER orally), by your vet, once a week, for 3-5 weeks. You may also need to give non dairy probiotics each day, to keep the antibiotics from causing digestive upset. Here's some information on it. WARNING: some of the photos may be disturbing to some people.

Hey again

Thanks for the answers.

I do not think, that it is fur mite, because I have heart that it itch and he actually don't seems trouble of it.

About the syphilis thing - is it possible that it can be that, even though he only have the rash on his nose. I have looked everywhere - nothing to see..

Rabbit syphillis can show up only on the nose, especially if it's not a very advanced case. I too would look into that first. The treatment is simple and is in the link JBun provided.

Thanks..
I think I will try to talk to the vet about that - it is the best bet. But I think it is weird because he lives alone.

Rabbits can get it even when they are never normally around other rabbits. It's a bacteria that can be passed to them at birth, and can lie dormant, and surface latter in life.

If there is just swelling of the nose, it could also be an abscess instead of the syphilis, in which case, antibiotics are still needed to clear it up.

Never found out what it was. It went away again. However, Trofast is a healthy and happy bunny today.

Good to know he's happy and healthy. Reading the earlier posts, I'm wondering whether perhaps it could have been ringworm.
