Rash on Babii's neck- Resolved

i was baithing babii erlier and i noticed that her skin is normal color ecept her neck is bright pink (like a rash) and shes missing a patch of fur and her skin under is is black and feels like a skab...how can i help her. I cant bring her to the vet right now but i need to do something..it bugs both of us

Sounds like it could be ringworm or mites. Is it flakey? is she around any other bunnies? what is her housing?

Shes has been with another bunny like 3 months ago (witch the other bunny just came from the pet store). she lives in a cage, last tifme she was outdoors was like a month ago and yeah...eeek how can i help her?

I just took mine to the vet today for that and a little bump. They did scrapings and checked for mites - then did a thing to check for ringworm. We won't know about that for a few days at least. No mites.

I don't know what else to tell you.

Hmm, the bump might be an abscess. Did the other bun bite her, or were they ever together when you weren't watching? It could also be something like mites or ringworm and she scratched herself too hard. Definitely bring her to the vet and get it checked out.

At all? Could someone drive you? Maybe your parents could pay for it, and you could pay them back? If I remember right you're living with them.

Well I talked to my mom and she said we can go to the vet, she will pay but we can only go next week when she gets her pay.

Its a round-ish black bump...I talked to my moms friend who used to work in a vet clinic and she said it may be ring work but its not a perfect circle and everytime i look at it i get grossed out and put her back (I have the flu so my stomach is not very strong)

Its not that its gross its just its...weird its a bumpy bump (lol). Its actually getting smaller (not that it was big) but its getting taller like she got hit playing hockey (first thing that came to mind)



I feel so bad becasue last week I baught a Santa costume for her (for 'Medium' Dogs) and the neck/collar part was right on the bo-bo and i hadn't noticed it yet and she kept kicking and trying to run but i kept bulling her back and she pulled it and it all got stuck on her shoulder (where bo-bo is) and no that i think of it...i hurt her im litterally crying.

Could this possibly be the cause of it? If it was scraping there and was rough, it could probably make a rash....

I'm thinking it sounds like it might be a bot fly...but I'm not sure...as I've never experienced it before.

Maybe try reading what we have in the BotFlies section of the Rabbit Health (Read Only) section of the Lagomorph Library.

Just something to be aware of...and I hope that's not it...

Oh my gosh, The Bump has gone away. The black mark is there but some people sujjest its just her skin because she is getting older (shes 1 and a half). Could it be?

I cut a bit of her fur later to check and everythings back to normal. Weird Eh?

Could it have been new hair? There have been times that I found a little black circle on Bo that felt slightly raised and it was new fur coming through the skin.

1 1/2 is considered old in bunny years .

That could only be 1/10 of her life.

Lol i feel so stupid becasue now that i realize it..it was her shoulder bone the bump, i checked the other side. And yes it probably is her fur because i had a bright ( not really) Idea to cup some fur to check so now the top of her is flat..it looks funny my moms like shes going to be embaressed and im like to who!.
