I would like to clarify that I realize that there are some people that raise rabbits for food, and it is not this issue that is my problem. It is the people that are insensitive enough to walk by my rabbits and comment on how tasty Puffin looks for dinner.
Well, you can always let them know that you are rather partial to dog roast for tea:(
^^^Lol! I'll have to remember that one, Sabine :D...mm, with horseradish :p
:biggrin2:
(joking, joking)

My relations joke about eating the rabbits

They do be joking though.. although I think my cousin would, cause when George (RIP) died he asked could he have him to cook him!

To be honest the few times people commented about having the rabbits for dinner I always treat it like a genuine inquiry even if it's not. I'll just explain that they are totally unsuitable for eating and there are different breeds etc... so that they must feel as if they had asked me if I'd consider turning my canarie into a pie:)

But back to the original topic, I was wondering when you said the woman killed the rabbit, was that out of neglect or did she actually physically kill it? Either is despicable but I am shocked someone would come back to a pet store and even admit to it and then expect another animal:(

People tease me all the time about eating my guinea pigs and even about fishing out of my goldfish pond but they know better than to try it!

I would be asking her to leave the store and never come back.

Just my .02 cents

I dont know if i could control myself if someone actually ate my rabbit, i would probably end up in jail :/

Ditto.
o.o

When I fist got my bun Pippin, I was in Catholic school at the time, roughly 7th grade.
And the Priest found out and started asking me when I would eat him.
The horrid thing is he was not kidding.
:grumpy:
Its not that horrid, people eat rabbit in my area and I have ate rabbit once or twice.
About the girl who pet rabbit went missing is diffrent as there was no permission.

IMO, The difference is that some animals are raised as livestock and are eventually going to end up on someones dinner table. As much as I don't really like the idea of itI understand that itis a part oflife. But a pet should never end up on someones dinner table. And it's not really even funny to joke about it.
