I am new here and wondering if this is a forum just for bunny lovers, which I am, or for people that raise meat rabbits too.
I love my rabbits, and I actually have one in my lap right now, as soon as I got up she hopped in here beside me.But there purpose is to birth baby rabbits for meat.
Well, actually, the first few litters will be for raising stock to produce meat rabbits. We bring two or three inside every night and let them run around. Heck, the little poop they make goes to tha garden anyway. sweep up real easy. They sure beat a dog or cat.
I am disabled due to a fall working on a side job without insurance no doubt, and I am stuck with a $736 a month check that isn't getting the job done. We nearly lost everything we had worked for, for years.
After all the things I have built through out my life, six years ago, I found myself in a position where I had to build yet one more thing after all I have built in my life. But it took about three of those years to come to grips with it. I didn't have a choice but to build myself a job that my body can do.
I started with chickens and was doing fair, until I became the fool that ordered 50 roosters for meat. Them sucker called every fox from three states for a free dinner.
I lost all my hens before I knew what was going on. I bought a tiller that I could run and started a garden. First two years was good and then some one put in the Gound Hogs news paper where the free lunch was.
Now I am on to raising rabbits along with my new flock of "hens". I do need to get me one white leg horn roosterbut he can't crow but so much. 50 of them crowed non stop.
Anyone here that raises rabbits for meat that can help me learn, I sure would appriciate it.
