I was looking for a bit of advise im thinking of putting my rabbit hutch in the greenhouse over winter probably from the middle of november until beginning of march i have a opening window and could leave the door open through the day but what bothers me is would it be too warm in the winter sun with the door and window open.I wondered if any one as done the same thing iv not had my rabbits long so not done a winter yet.

Rabbits can deal extremely well with the cold - unlike the heat. What does your hutch look like? Does it have all wire sides, or are some sides wooden?

If it's all wire you should wrap something around it to keep the wind from getting to the bunny. You could use an old sheet or something like that. Or, if the hutch only has wire on two or three sides, then you could just wrap the sides and back (even if it's wooden) and leave the front open (just make sure no wind blows directly at the rabbit ;)).

You could put a box full of hay in the hutch so the bunny can sit in there and stay warmer and also be comfortable and out of the wind and other weather ;)

Can you tell us where about you are located?
Telling us that will give us some indication of what kind of weather you usually have in your area and whether or not the greenhouse would get too hot for them.

Are your bunnies currently indoors or outdoors? Location?

hi, my rabbit hutch is a 5ft double it stands about 18 inches of the ground on a wooden stand only the front has got wire on rest of it is log lap wood.I live in west yorkshire in england and my hutch is on the patio next to a tall fence so it gets some shelter from the wind,if i do leave it there over winter i might get some tarpolin to cover it up although id rather put it in the greenhouse but only if its not going to get too warm in there.
