What do you feel should be on a website? I like to see photos of all the animals- not just the ones in show. I also feel there should be some general information or at the very least- links to information- about the breed/breeds that are demonstrated on the website- including information about the breed standard and care- general rabbit care as well as any specific care requirements for the breed. I also like to see photos and information about the rabbitry set up. An about me section that also tells about how the rabbitry got started. A clear sales policy. A current sales page with photos and prices listed. Contact information should be easy to find- an email address and location- city/state.

What do you look for when you look at websites of other breeders? Its nice to see a pleasant layout that is easy to navigate. I look for information and photos of their rabbitry and the conditions the rabbits are kept in. I look for information about the shows they are planning to attend. I like to see current photos of their animals as well as what they have for sale.

What do you feel should be on a website?

There should bean "About Me" page or atleast a general idea of what the breeder is doing with their rabbitry.Lots of information and pictures of their setup, Clubs they are in, contact info (e-mail, possibly phone #), updated regularly (once a month bare min., once a week is better if possible.) Pictures and information on every rabbit that they work with (Unless you have over 20 rabbits that you consitantly breed), updated information and Recent pictures!

What do you look for when you look at websites of other breeders?

Neat, easy to read font and color of text.

Easily navigated pages.

Contact Information

Past Winnings and upcoming shows.

Date last updated

Overall, it should be thourough and neat.

What do you feel should be on a website? I like posting pictures of litters as they develop. It honestly saves me time sending emails with pics to the people on my waiting list. Not all of those rabbits will be for sale, but people have told me they appreciate seeing how the bunnies develop over time. I guess you'd call those people the rabbitry website's "regulars."

I get upset when I don't see a location on the main page or on the "about us" page. It's important to have at least your state and, better yet, a geographic area in that state. It clears up whether or not someone is willing to drive the distance to get a bunny from you.

Pictures are great, but I'm notorious for updating my pics of babies but not my herd. I tend to get a picture on there of them when they are not yet matured and then don't change it. I seem to always think of it when they don't look their best...for example, Reuben looks nothing like his picture but he's molted like a plucked chicken right now and Clover's ears are no longer up, but she has herself plucked clean on her legs and chest from her recent litter. I know I need to do it, but I also think it takes two people...one to pose and one to click the picture.

I do have contact info on my page because, quite frankly, with a webpage all anyone needs to do is look at who owns it and they have your name, address, phone number and email address. What's the point of hiding that information if it's already available elsewhere on the web?

What do you look for when you look at websites for other breeders? I agreethat pictures are helpful, but so are descriptions of the rabbits that are for sale. I like to read about their strengths, weaknesses, and personalities. I also think they need to be updated often. If I find a website that hasn't been updated in months I'm not likely to go back to that. That being said, my favorite Mini Lop breeder is notoriously not updating her site...but she's great at emails, so I go that route.

I like the Links sections, but I'm also avoiding posting one. I have a breeder that wants to "trade links" with me but I seriously wouldn't recommend her to anyone...so I'm honestly being a chicken and holding out on the links page until I think she's moved on and forgotten about it. :)

In looking at potential breeders, I look towards nice people I've met at shows and liked their stock. I also exchange emails and see what they're like. If I send emails and don't get back much in the way of a response, I move on to another breeder.

One little thing that drives me nuts... Please look into a paid site or at least one that doesn't have advertisements and pop ups. It is not that expensive to find good prices. I have been to sites that the advertisements cloud what the site is trying to show.

This is my site

Through here

They have good prices. :)
