So yesterday I was cleaning out Arnold who is a dwarf lop male of about 8 months, when I found a clump of fluffy fur. I thought it may of come from his tail so I had a look [as quick as I could, he's a ridiculously wriggly bun] and couldn't see anything. I noticed this morning a clump quite like it almost clinging onto his foot near the back. I took some pictures, they're not the best as he kept wriggling but I wondered if you knew what it was? I tried to look and I couldn't see blood or open wounds etc.

When I was poking around to try and get him to let me see he didn't seem like he was in any pain, but he hopped off anyway cos he's fussy about me trying to keep him still

Thank you xo

Looks like there may have been a mat of fur on the foot that is coming lose. Were you able to see the hocks to make sure they aren't bald and/or sore? When was the last time he shed?

I have had him since about February and I am a first time rabbit owner so I am not sure but I'm pretty sure he hasn't shed yet.

I checked his hocks for as long as I could and they seemed okay, managed to get some mega quick pictures [again, not the best but as best as I could manage with the world's most wriggly bun]. The fur just seems stained from where he constantly sits in his litter tray and quite matted.

I gave him a brush and it seemed like more fur was coming into the brush that usual all over him so maybe he's shedding.

You can see better on the second picture how his fur is matted lots and almost coming away at the bottom of his feet on the outside?

Bet he's happy with the graceful pictures of him on the internet :p

To me it looks like he's starting to shed. I brush through all the fur including the bottoms of feet to help prevent matting. It also helps it shed easier without coming off in clumps. It's good that there aren't any blad or sore spots.

That's what this forum is for. I have freaked out over little things too. Particularly at first it's easy to worry over everything until you get settled in.

Welcome to the forum :)
Arnold is very cute!
