My new lionhead's eyes show white when she looksaround at the corners and soemtimes at the tops. Is this normal? I waslifting her eyelids and over the white part there's this white/creamstuff that looks like muscle(like in our eyes, just white). Is thisnormal? I only see the white when she's curious or scared otherwise itlooks normal. Her eyes don't look infected and if you saw them youwouldn't think something was wrong with her.

She doesn't have a teary eye and the fur around is dry and she isactive, eating well, and pooping/peeing excellent. I once saw thispicture on this site where a rabbits eye looked like a human eye withwhite on either side, but I can't find the site for the life of me. I'mjust going to keep an eye on it, and if it grows or irratates her, orif her personality changes I might have to book an appointment for thevet.

Is this something to worry about? Should I just keep an eye on it, or is it normal?

I'm sorry that I don't have any information togive you...I'm a relatively new bunny owner, so I don't know much abouthealth things...

BUT...I researched through some eye sites listed in the healthreferences on this site, and I think found the site youmentioned...

Is it this one? http://www.eyevet.info/uveitis.html

Let me know. It's the only one I found that resembles what you mention. :)

Thanks. It's not that one the one I saw was amilky substance on either side of the eyeball and resembled the whiteparts of a human eye. There's no discharge and I think it's probablyjust the muscles on her eye. What is the blue stuff on the websitemean? Is it common for rabbtis to have blue on the top part of theireye?I'm jsut curious... it looks odd to me:?.

She doesn't seem bothered by it so hoepfully everythings ok.

It looks like the whites on a humaneye? That's all it is then. Rabbit eyes are likeours, only their pupils and irises are bigger so you don't see thewhites as much. :)

Oh ok. The picture just looked weird and Ithought it was some sort of infection (I thought it was pretty but thenI read what was beside it and it said something but for the life of meI couldn't remember what it said or the website!) So I was scared thismight be the case.

I'm so sorry if I worried you. Ijust wanted to give you the link in case that was what you were talkingabout. :?

You're welcome. I just wish I could answer your question better. :?

"Rolly" eyes are normal when rabbits show stress or intense interest insomething. The rim of white is a good indication of mood, although somerabbits show it more than others depending on breed. Palominos' eyesare triangle-shaped (sleepy eyes) and show very little white. Smallerbreeds like Netherlands, Hollands and--I suspect--lionheads haverounder (buggy) eyes which often show white or creamy white when wideopen.

I have a picture of my Holland lop chinning me, and you can see thewhites of her eyes. I'll see if I can get that loaded soon so you cancompare.:)
