Recently my bunny's been acting up; she's about 8 months old so I guess she's in her teen months but that's by the by.

She's started quacking. When she's circling me and quietly grunting/moaning/buzzing (whatever you want to call it), sometimes she'll make a noise that virtually sounds like a quack.

I'm not sure what to make of it, if it's bad or good. She seems to be in good health and aside from the manic marking around my home and me (sometimes I get circled with poops when sitting on my computer... Almost end up feeling like a cult sacrifice), nothing changed.

Someone suggested she might have a sore throat or something, but I'm hoping for some advice that's a bit more in depth!

Quacking? I've had grunting, moaning, squeaking honking and clucking like a chicken but never quacking. :biggrin2:

Although I guess honking and clucking comes pretty close to a quack! :ponder:

Can you hear her breath? Any runny nose? Hacking? Anything like that?

Probably not an issue. But feel free to record it for our Library, LOL!

ETA: Most of the above noises, minus the 'on no, you're going to eat me!' moaning, are hormonal, territorial or both, and she sounds like she's got the works going on. (Thankfully that stage doesn't last).

Hahah. I really do want to get it recorded but it's so random and usually when I'm not concentrating on her, thus the second I show any sign of attention she stops. Someday though!

Would be really interested to hear a clucking/honking bunny. Such awesome creatures!

Also, is it normal for a bunny to run up to the front door whenever I'm near it and sit right in front of it so I can't get out?

I thought females this clingy only existed in movies... :D

Our bunn girl Zoe would do this...we call it nonking!;)(cause thats what it sounds like!
We had never had a bunn that made noises before...and since our girl was spayed we spent a fortune running back and forth to the vet convinced she was in pain! :)

Apparently she is very vocal about having a good chew...butt, foot or cleaning her ears...she will nonk away to herself in enjoyment. Or if we scratch her ears for her!

I did get it on video two years ago...I will have a wee look today to see if I can find it!

Danielle:)

We've had does "quack" - it's generally associated with territorial behaviors. It does indeed sound like a duckputting up a fuss.:biggrin2:
