Princess has made a nest

Ok I got a lovely surprise when I came home from town, I went out to the shed with a bowl of veg for the rabbits. When I opened the shed the first sight that greeted me was Princess sitting inside her sleeping box surrounded by fur, which I guess is now her nestbox. I got such a shock! I ran and called my dad and all he said was 'Aw christmas baby bunnies'. The rabbits have never been together, the only way they could have breed is through the bars of the cages or when my baby sis let them out together but she was on the ground and he was on top of the hutch and I was 99% sure they didn't breed.

I don't have a clue whether it is a false pregnancy or not, she was acting a little funny last night but today seems ok and came running like normal for veggies. I took the box and made sure there were no babies in there and there weren't. I guess only time will tell and for now all I can do is wait. Only thing is I won't be around tonight to check on her till 12am because I'm going to a rave.

How old is Princess??

I know you posted a while back that you were going to start breeding and you were going for it really well so I am sure she will be fine in your care.

Only time will tell if she actualy is preggers or not or if its false!!

She's 6 months and 2 weeks. I'll check on her before I leave tonight and when I get home and at around 5am.

I just went out there and she is in the nest with her head buried in the hay, I just set up the camera and left. I'll check on her later.

She could be pregnant but I guess you'll just have to wait and see.

Uh oh! She could possibly be pregnant, but I guess you'll have to wait and see if anything else happens over time.

And it could also be a false becauase my doe, Buttercup, pulled fur and created a nest and she was never exposed to a buck. I just left the nest in there for a couple of days and then took it out..

Hopefully it's a false! ray:But if it isn't, I hope she has a safe and easy birth.

Hi everyone, yep I checked on her before I left and I'm just home and just checked on her again. There's nothing in the nestbox yet, I guess when I saw her licking something it was just her foot lol. She is spending all her time in the nestbox now, and only comes out when I enter the shed and thumps her foot, so she's obviously not happy with me being in there. I'm going to get up at 5am again and if there is something there at that time I'll update you. There's still no obvious signs whether this is false or not yet. I made sure they had plenty of fresh water, lot's of food and hay incase she is. It's all really weird and confusing, especially since I didn't have anytime to think about it.

Her behaviour so far has showed a good bunny momma, she made a nice nest in a box with lot's of hay, it is usually her sleeping box. So if she is expecting, hopefully she'll continue on being a good momma. It's annoying not having any idea when she's due, it could be tonight, tomorrow or the day after since all does make their nests at different stages.

Sorry Becca lol Ya I checked at 5am and at 8am, nothing there so far, she's just sitting in there quite a bit now and thumps her foot at me when I come in.

I'm beginning to lean more towards it being false, she hasn't been in her nest since I checked on her at 8am and is acting normally. The only weird thing is after she built the nest yesterday, I put my hand around her belly she had a pretty round hard belly. Today it's smaller and not hard. I checked the nest throughly but nothing..unless she ate them but there was abosolutely no sign of her doing that. This is so annoying, I wish she never built that stupid nest.

Ya that's what my dad said 'aw christmas bunnies' and my mam was thinking of all these Christmas names. They don't care if she's pregnant or not. Ya they would be nice Christmas pressies from the buns but this whole is it false or not thing is driving me mad! I wonder if anyone here has any idea about her tummy being smaller today?

Princess gave birth to 4 kits, all of which died, RIP babies Should I take them out now? She doesn't seem to care, she's acting like herself now.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear it. It's good that Princess is looking alright, though!

Yes, take them out and dispose of them. Double check to make sure they have really passed though, I found a litter this week I swear was dead until I held one and felt it very weakly move. Chilled kits can be deceiving.

Eh, I'll go out now and take them out, I managed to peel one out, they are pretty stuck together, I think she's being standing on them. The one I took out wasn't too bad looking but it didn't look like it could be alive, I'll double check, he's quite cold though and I don't know how long they have been there for.
