I just got off the phone with Zin and she and her family could use prayers....they're preparing for Gustav - but she has already lost a number of bunnies to the heat and stress of moving, etc. Many of them were her sanctuary bunnies - but one of them that she lost was Reveille - who many of you may remember pictures of.
At this point in time - the plan is to move all of the younger bunnies that can stand the stress of moving, etc. to Rusty's place. The pregnant heifers and steer are going there too. All of the house bunnies are already moved (this includes Mallory and Madilyn) along with George, Gabby, Sokee (sp?) - Zin's first bunny, Ori, Dodge, Frenchy, SKe-doosh, etc.
Zin's horses and pig will be staying at Lisa's (Jarred's mom). They have a barn that is built of bricks (or built like a brick - I forget...). Lisa lives on a hill - so while the winds could hit 140 mph and the storm surge could be 10' tall....they should be ok (except for loss of power). Zin's house however....could be gone depending upon the storm surge.
Rusty lives closer to the Houston area and while I'm sure they will feel the affects of the storm - they will not be in the heart of the storm.
In spite of her losses right now - Zin is trying to work hard to get everyone moved around and to safety.
I'm sure prayers would be appreciated for Zin - her family - her animals - and anything else you can think of to pray for them.
I'm just heartbroken that Zin lost Reveille as I know she was well-loved and socialized.
