Well, I've been really busy and I thought I'd update the whole deal in one thread! It's sort of a lot!

  • First, as you might know, I got poison ivy really bad from chasing a lamb one night. I'm highly allergic. It got bad - it's still not good - I have 2 places bigger than my hand on my legs, and bunches of little ones. It got so bad that I ended up with Cellulitis from it - just above my knees, on the inside, both legs... lovely. I'm on an antibiotic that's not being nice to my stomach.
  • My truck was hit one day at the beginning of June. I had to fight the insurance company of the other driver - but I finally won and got 100% paid for the repairs... the truck has been in the shop since last Monday and I have a rental car..... hehehe ...... 2008 Ford Escape 4x4 ... I just rolled the odometer to 1000 yesterday! :pSuch fun!
  • So I show the little car to my mom and dad.... they decide they like it and go out and buy a Mariner which is like the Escape but Mercury's model.
  • They give us their old car! YAY! now Luke and I both have cars to drive. The little Mercury they gave us is blue - and really nice - it's older but looks nearly new! It really helps us out right now with the economy being so bad.
  • I had to help my dad go get the new car and do the paperwork and I have to do more of it tomorrow. I'm not supposed to get out and hot and stuff with the cellulitis, but I've done ok. I did lose a day's pay. I'd like to choke the guy who came and got his lamb.... :X
  • Apparently, I am "on call" for Horse duty. I was INFORMED on Friday that I had the horses and pigs for the weekend..... :?God forbid I had plans..
  • Thursday we were in the barn when my SIL's horse came in with a huge slice in her leg..... 10 stitches later and some heavy duty drugs.... she's ok. She cut it on the indoor arena ... same horse that nearly tore the barn down and almost hung herself a couple of months ago. Same horse that still hasn't figured out that the pigs are in the indoor, and will squeal, and she WILL see them as she walks in the door - so not to jump on top of the person leading her..... :X
  • All of that AND the normal stuff.... and trying to keep from making my legs worse...... has been a challenge.
  • My truck is supposed to be done Thursday.
  • Luke's doing hay tomorrow..
  • I have to be around and check on him - he's driving a tractor to "ted" the hay.... I have never heard of that.... but I have a lot to do. It's not a good thing for my schedule......

OH my are you busy!:?

  • Sorry to hear about the poison ivy and now cellulitus. Ugh. Hope it goes away soon!
  • Congrats on the new car.
  • Sounds like the SIL's horse is brilliant;)

^ditto to all that! busy busy busy!

Gosh Bo..it sound's like you've been having a blast ;)

Sorry to hear about the horse's leg though...poor thing

And yay for another car....i went halve's with my son Anthony in a car for him since he has his licence now...and let me tell ya it's so much better than having to share my car...not that i minded but when he had the car,i alway's needed to go somewhere lol.

Thanks all :)

Yes, That horse is just....... well we call her SPECIAL! ;):pShe loves to smell my gum when I have some. She checks my mouth each time she can.... smelling for Juicy Fruit. LOL!

Well, since I totaled the van and money is tight..... we were trying to get by on the F250 but it's a gas hog and we intended for my car and that truck to be share vehicles for me and son. Whoever needs the car for less gas usage would use it or whoever needed to use the truck for the trailer or picking up feed, etc.

So, getting the Sable is just awesome! It will at least buy me some time to get a newer one later.

Finally, the poison has pretty much stopped oozing.... it was GROSS! I had to keep big bandages on it some. The cellulitis is getting better..... and the itching is going away....

Life goes on :)

So glad to hear that things are improving with the cellulitis. Lee goes back to work tomorrow!!!

It's great that you have a car that's easier on gasoline...I know our weekly bill is way up....we've got a Buick Century, and 2 minivans....my son buys the gas for the Buick since he uses it almost exclusively when he's home. We're hoping to trade that one and one of the vans in on something that's better on gas.

Hope things continue to improve with the legs...take care...Grace

Grace, I know what you mean! I'd love to drive a little Smart car! but it just wouldn't haul the horse trailer :p

Ali...... we need to hire someone to help do the not fun stuff!

:laughsmiley:I don't know why, but that struck me so funny! I can just see Ali running around holding her pants up!

How's the poinson ivy today? My DH gets it real bad... he's allergic too. It can get really ugly and painful. I feel for you Bo... Feel better...

It's getting better, but I have these huge patches of dry, scaling skin on both legs. Then I have a few spots that are still "fresh" - a big lot around my one ankle. I also have a big gouge on one leg.... I think I must have scratched it in my sleep.

I have to work tomorrow but I will "lather" myself in cream to keep me from getting itchy and irritated! LOL!

Thanks for asking

I showed my brother inlaw my legs 2 days ago. He wanted us to drive the tractor for "tedding" hay.. I told him I couldn't but Luke could and he said "Why?" and I showed him how bad they were..... and explained how much money it has cost me, how I couldn't work, had Rx, etc., and how Luke was down with it first... I also told him that if I saw the guy, I'd kill him. :p

I probably shouldn't work tomorrow but Lexi is going to help me.... so that won't be so bad.

Pennie, I'm so sorry you're going throught this! Poison Ivy go away! Eww.

You poor thing! I hope you're all better very soon!

Will the truck be done like they said?

Man, I feel for you, you have so much going on!:grumpy:

I hope the truck doesn't get done on time! :pThen I'll have the 2008 I've been driving - for the holiday weekend!

And in between all that remember to breath :pSeriously though I hope your legs are better soon Cellulius is horrible :(hugs to you :)
