Just wanted to ask for prayer for Trixie. She didn't eat her pellet food either last night, or the night before. This morning, I added a few raisins...and this afternoon, they'd been eaten, so it's good that she's at least eating those.

Then this afternoon, I added some oats to her pellets...most of the oats are now gone, as well as a few pellets. (I think it was a thing like she couldn't avoid eating them as well, hehe!)

I also gave her about 2cc of pumpkin tonight...so she's got good fiber and liquid in her system. She's moving around almost as much as normal. We let her out tonight, but she's never too terribly interested in coming out to play (unless she can catch Sunny the Cat unawares...stinky bunny), so she got a LITTLE exercise to keep things moving, but not a whole lot...and that was with us having her door open for a few hours. She just didn't really wanna come out.

Hopefully I'll awake to her pellets being eaten. We're going to be cleaning her litterbox constantly so I can see how much she's pooping. To my knowledge (since it's been a couple days since her box has been cleaned), she's still pooping. But it's hard when she won't come out.

So, we'll clean out the box, and I'll report poop amount in the morning.

Please keep her in your prayers...

Hugs and love to all,

Rosie*

P.S. A couple of good things...we have benebac, pumpkin, banana babyfood, simethicone, and I can give her subq's if I need to. So, we're fully stocked on anything and everything we can tempt her with (including cheerios, raisins, and craisins if needed, hehe). :)

If anyone has anything they think I should also have on hand, please let me know, and we'll pick it up tomorrow. :)

:mrsthumper::hearts I hope she gets on the mend soon!

Out of curiosity, what types of baby food are the best to always have on hand? I have to go shopping later today and have a long list for myself and the critters but I'm always open to suggestions of other "must haves" to have close at hand.

Thank you so much for your well wishes for Trixie...:)

As far as babyfood...we always have either banana, strawberry banana, or berry banana. :)

Thank you for your prayers, Jim!

UPDATE: We've lots of poops in the litterbox (lots of fresh poops), so she's still "going"...I'm thinking now it might be a response to something Maisie's going through...which I'll also post, and edit to add the link here.

:litterhealthy:!:woohoo

It's something only a "rabbit" person understands...

I like to keep the banana and oatmeal baby food around. Clover likes it kept around HER FOODDISH! LOL!

Rosie, I think you may have something when you say it may be connected to what is happening with Maisie. These little buns are very good at picking up on things. You can certainly do without worrying about Trixie as well :?. Hoping that ALL of your babies, and you come through things OK

UPDATE: No more poops this morning...

How often should I give her pumpkin, and how much? I gave her approx 2cc's last night. Should I do it three times a day?

As far as quantity...she's 8.4lbs...

She and Maisie's cages are right next to each other, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were a reaction to Maisie having a hard time...:(

I'm going to put a bit more oats in her food today, hoping to entice her into eating it. She was eating hay last night, so that's a good thing. I'll be watching her (and Maisie) like a mama hawk today.

My poor sweethearts...:(

Hey Rosie, are you really stressed out right now? Im wondering if she's picking up on your stress?

Id say a few tablespoons of pumpkin two to three timesa day is good.

Relax and stay calm. Everything will be ok

Thank you, Haley.

Well, I wasn't stressed about anything (except for the other night when I kinda broke down because I want OUT of this APARTMENT) until our discovery in Maisie's litterbox last night. Maybe she's reacting to my crying with Danny about wanting to move?

Ok...I'll give her that much of the pumpkin. It's gonna be hard work, hehe...she's REALLY not happy with my giving it to her. To which I reply, "Well, Hunny...if you'd eat your pellets and poop enough, I wouldn't have to do this...you silly wabbit!"

Hehe...

hmm well the main reason I would suggest pumpkin is bc most bunnies like it and take it willingly. If you have to syringe it to her you might as well use a pellet slurry instead. It will have more fiber and less carbs.

Ok...any way you could tell me how to make the pellet slurry? :)

I'll also look around and see if I can find it. :)

Thanks so much, Haley!

Edited to add: I found this quote from Flashy in another thread...is this how you would make it, too?

You could also try making a pellet slurry by crushing the pellets and soaking them in hot water, leaving it to cool, and then feeding it (via syringe if necessary).

Also with the pellet slurry...how much and how often??

Photos of Trixie's litterbox...

:biggrin2:

OK...I feel silly for worrying about Trixie as much as I did...I think given that she's eating her hay, drinking, and though not pooping her NORMAL amount just yet, she IS pooping, which means things are going well.

I'm going to continue to watch her like a hawk...maybe add a bit more oats to her pellet food (so she'll accidentally intake pellets, hehe), and Danny's gonna get a banana, to possibly mush it in with the pellets (just a slice, hehe), to tempt her to eat them (as her absolute FAVORITE food is banana).

But I think we're in the clear, folks! :) Things slowed, but did not stop...so we're in a good state.

Now, to continue to watch Maisie like a hawk (who's eating, pooping, drinking, peeing, playing with her new toys, everything just fine).

Congratulations on the poops!

I'll be keeping you and your enitre family (furry and not so furry) in my prayers.

Thank you so much, missyscove...I really appreciate it. :)

I don't even crush the pellets cause when you put warm water on them they fluff and break up - it's just like compressed wood - only basically just hay like that.

I sometimes add just a tad bit of baby food, or smooshed banana if it's going to be in a syringe or bottle for babies - I add a little more water to make it more a drink.

That's all I did for Clover for her first month with us.

Think I should still make it/give it to her if she's pooping? I'll be keeping an eye on her to make sure she continues the poops. :)
