**"My cat almost died from Advantage as well, Ithink from licking it off the other cat soon after it was applied, although it could have been an allergic reaction. (My vetthought maybe an allergy to food, but the day after the application wasway to coincidental to me).

The linked article talks about Advantage re: problems when it's lickedoff, not FrontLine, correct? I thought Frontline causedneurological problems with straight applications "**

Oooh, does sound scary! My catstarted gettingulcersall over her body (shealmost lost an ear),and was just generally a mess, but no instant allergyreaction.

I read that kitten flea treament isn't good for rabbits somewhere in myrecent travelsas well, so I don't know what tothink. There are so many differing opinions when it comes tobunnies.

So far, haven't seen any complaints about Program, I'll be keeping my eye open for more research, though.

Zainah,

Are you sure your bun is chewing his own tail? Look closelyfor maggot infestation or possible attack(s) from mice or otherrodents. If you are sure he is doing it to himself,Rabbit Production, Eighth Edition states the following onthe topic of fur chewing:

Rabbits ...alone in a cage chew the fur on the sides ofback of their rumps....Fur chewing is most likely due to a faultyration or to the rabbits not receiving the proper amount of feed and isusually associated with a ration that does not contain enoughfiber. Keeping a good quality hay or straw available at alltimes and feeding small quantities of green food daily will assistmaterially in preventing the fur chewing habit fromdeveloping. If the feeding of hay does not solve the problem, increasing the protein content of the ration mighthelp....pgs101-102

Other causes, as suggested in the second sentence, would require other remedies.

thanks for all the replies, guys..right now,he's doin fine..he's very active he really wants to " mate"..i havescratches in my arm when i reach out to him..so what do u suggest? i'mplanning to buy a female but i dont really have enough experience withrabbits..(i have a cat and dog back home). well, i took him to a vetyesterday..cleaned up his wound..dressed it and..as i expected, gavechinese medicines..but i dont want to take any chances, he ruled outfleas tho..so if i am going to cross hongkong tomorrow,(i'm already atthe border now) what kind of medicine/anti- fleas would be the best?
since i bought my pet, i never put him in cage, he is always free toroam around my room, he sleeps at the floor beside my bed, my room'sfloor is wood tiles, no carpets or rugs.
and yes he bit his tail and ate it(i was shocked really)..
i notice his sudden change of behavior when he started showing signsthat he's ready to "mate".he was very aggressive for the last couple ofdays..he grabs my forearm and legs when i come near him..about theneutering thing, the vet that i took him to; dont practice that so it'sa problem, but i'll keep on looking..i have second thoughts on buyinghim a mate coz of my lack of experience with rabbits..
On foods,i 've been giving him water cress stalks and leaves, cauliflowers, carrots, carrot tops,lettuce..
now, he's doing okay, running and playing as usual as though nothinghappened..yes, i notice him scratching from time to time, so there's apest problem..
i have learned a lot from the forums, it's my first time to have rabbit so its a big help for me..
thank u guys, i really need all the help that i can get.

..zainah..
:)

Wait until you get home and then have himneutered by a vet you trust. If you let him have a female friend beforehe's fixed you will probably get a whole litter of rabbits. Some of hisbehavior problems might be helped or solved by getting him neutered. Ifyou get a female, have her spayed as well, it will make her healthierin the long run. :)
