So I've been a little busier than normal the past couple of weeks. My best friend is getting married, I'm preparing to go back to school, I'm taking extra shifts at work, and my niece was born! All these extra things have been taking a toll on my pet play time. And I've noticed that they are not happy about it ( I have a cat, as well as the rabbit, and they've been misbehaving a little). So this evening I came home and finally had time to sit down and really play with Shino.

When he saw me lay down in his area his little ears pricked up and he ran around his x-pen and surrounding carpets collecting ALL of his toys! He just brought them all into a neat little pile in front of me. He even tried to drag a cardboard box over! It was too cute and I just stared in amazement. He then proceeded to dig through the toys, pulling ones out and shoving them at me. We would toss one once or twice and then he would choose another. then another and another until we went through all of his toys. I have toilet paper rolls that I stack for him to to knock down and I couldn't even get one to stand up straight before he would charge in and knock it down.

Then he plunked himself down in front of me in that "Pet me now!" pose and I scratched his nose for what felt like an hour. When he seemed to get tired of that he hopped up onto my back and gave me kisses.

It was so cute and nearly broke my heart. I guess he was missing his play time more than I realized!

This actually seems to be a big step in our relationship, he's usually quite aloof during play time. He doesn't like to cuddle, and only likes being pet when he asks (I mean demands!). But he seems to be... coming out of his shell a little.

That is an incredibly cute story! Definitely sounds like he loves you.

And people think rabbits are boring pets that don't do anything...

Thanks for sharing that with us :)

:)that is so cute! youreally have a great bond with shino - bunny playtime can ba a great stressbuster too:)

btw my two love cardboard - cheap and easy to get for me:)

Stress, loneliness, general depression... just sit down with a bunny and all in the world feels good again.

Maybe we could market bunny therapy?

Yup! I love those grocery stores that have boxes for you to take! They make great mazes, huts, digging boxes... you name it!
