So I've gotten a play pen for my bunny to romp around outside. But the down side to that is fleas. I know there are three types a bunny can get. However know where I've looked online has helped. Besides mixing half bunny shampoo and vinegar. When it comes to bunny shampoo I have no idea what's good. Any insight would help.

I would not recommend bathing a rabbit. Getting wet alone can give them a heart attack.
There are some dog/cat flea medications that are safe and effective on rabbits. Fipronil (frontline, parastar) is toxic to rabbits and should never be used. Safe options include selamectin (revolution) and imidocloprid (adgantage). Selamectin is usually the parasitacide of choice for rabbits as it also treats some mites they are prone to however because it treats heartworm in dogs and cats it is only available with a prescription from your veterinarian in the US. Different vets also prefer different dosages of selamectin so it's best to discuss with your vet.

We've had a lot of success with Revolution. You can only get it from a vet.

Your rabbit doesn't have to ever go outside to get fleas. They can get fleas from you. If you walk in your yard, it's possible a flea will jump on you. Once in the house, the flea will get on your rabbit.

My sister has an immaculate tidy house. She has a dog that lives in the house. We went over for Thanksgiving dinner. Another invited couple brought their dog. The next day, my wife had two, what looked like flea bites, on her stomach. We later noticed fleas on our rabbit.

Another good place to get fleas is at the vet. People bring their dogs in and some have fleas. They will jump off into the vet's facility, and hence to your rabbit.

Fleas don't like to be on people since you don't have enough hair. Any flea that get's into your house will soon migrate to your rabbit.

Watch for any unusual scratching by your rabbit. Also comb their hair backwards and look for little tiny tiny black particles...it's flea poo. With a significant infestation, you'll also just see the fleas. Fleas have a larva stage. As larva, they'll look like tiny worms about a 1/16 inch long.

^^ We had a very different experience from flemishwhite. We had stayed at a cabin in the woods with our labradoodle and our rabbits. Our dog had gotten infested with fleas. We had the dog dipped the day of our return home. But even after we got home, the fleas continued and we had to get the dog re-dipped AND the carpets all treated for fleas.

During this whole time, neither of our rabbits got fleas. (They are free-range on that carpet.) I fully expected the rabbits to get them, but they never did. Vet said that this wasn't unusual - that often the fleas that like dogs, for some reason, don't care for rabbit. :dunno

Bingo! I've you've really got time to kill, Google fleas and body lice and read about them. Species of fleas and lice are very closely identified to specific animals. The flea that jumps on you in the yard, will target your rabbit if that's all you have in the house, and that flea will then jump to a dog or cat given the chance. OK, from what I gather about your post, to avoid the expense of buying Revolution for your rabbit, just get a dog!
