The PetSmart that is close to me only sellsrabbits or cats (I've never seen dogs there) from the Humane Society. They have a special 'adoption' section -- a small room behind glasswith a few cages -- that holds animals from the shelter. Most of thetime it's cats on display, but on occasion they'll have a rabbit ortwo, and sometimes guinea pigs or other similar small animals.Actually, that's where I got my last rabbit...he was a gray Netherlandwho was a bit big for the breed, and tons of attitude! I had been withmy sister (tagging along for the ride) as she was looking for a dog toadopt, but she walked out without a dog and I walked out with$150.00less in my pocket, and a new rabbit and cageaccompanying me...:?

That's true. Petsmart is very goodabout promoting animal adoption with their in-store centers.Petco is beginning to get on board with that, but I haven't seen anyPetco adoption centers yet.

I have been to a store called PJ pets inpickering... I don't know if they have one in your area but I foundthem affordable and they had everything you would ever want for abunny. I bought my Cleo there and the staff know what theyare talking about. The bunnies are mostly at the front of thestore but they are high off the ground and have a lid on it, they arenot readily accessible to children. Cleo was even sexedproperly LOL (which is something you really have to be careful with inchain pet stores)

I heard the nick name Deathcetera uttered theother day, not that I condone slander. This was soleysomeones elses opinion as I shop at local pet stores that stock onlyfood, no animals.

A shelter near me places some of there rabbitsand cats at a Petco. It's two counties over so I've neverbeen there. My local Petsmart has shelter cats. Iwish they took rabbits, too. At least they have a sign up bythe small animals explaining that they don't carry rabbits because ofoverpopulation problems.
