A few months ago 175 pet rats were let loose, and when the town animal control attempted to exterminate them by method of shotgun, some concerned animal lovers saved some of the rats that were not killed. I received may already pregnant females and the babies (almost 200) were born two weeks later. These babies are now 11 weeks old and in desperate need of loving new homes. They are well acclimated to human contact and will bond with you easily with daily one on one attention. They are all very sweet and friendly. If you are interested in adopting a pair of these ratties, please contact me. I'm planning a road trip with the ratties from Connecticut to North Carolina to meet up with adopters who want to give them loving new homes. So much has been done for these rats already. It is amazing how many people come together to save such precious little lives, a common pet that gets looked at in disgust too much.

I looked at the website and it looks like that CT to NC trip was already made. Are they making another trip?

hhhhmmmm good question, i was assuming (we know what they say when you ASSume ) that they were going to be doing more that is why someone posted it on CL but i am not sure.

well i was just lookin on the new jersey craigs list and there is another posting for the ratties. since cl wont let you post two similar things the person wrote another posting stating that they are going to be making the trip and want to know if anyone wants to adopt any of the ratties. so if you are interested it seems that this person will be going there.

i emailed them this morning and i havent heard anything yet, i will let you know what they say. I also asked that if they were going where there stops were going to be at along the way so when they email me i will let you know.

Gentlegiants you have a pm, they contacted me and it seems that they cant get enough people interested so the trip may be canceled so i told her that i would send you the email and information so that you two can talk and see if this was going to be a go.

Good luck with getting some ratties.

I'm going to move this to the Let Your Hare Down board to see if it generates more responses there.

Good Luck!

Has there been any interest at all in Missouri? If so I could *possibly* be a transport stop for some. I have to check and see if my brother still has the ferret cage I lent him over 2 years ago.

I used that a long time ago with my hairless rats. By the cage calculator it was spacious enough for 10-12 rats, but I'd honestly prefernot to bring in that many here.

Well, I emailed her with some questions, waiting for a reply now. I loved the pet rats I had when I was a kid, I just stopped getting them because they have such short little lives it was breaking my heart all the time, it seemed like. Icequeen, do you have any idea what the adoptin fees are for one pair? So I can start working on my Hubby. :pleaseplease:

I jsut got a reply from the lady, she said she is not making any more road trips, as there haven't been enough reponses. :(

crap so sorry about that. But you know there are plenty of other needy rats out there for you, or you can see if she plans on making it down the road and you can contact her then.
