Anyone in the US know of any good pet insurance?

Also, how urgent is a vet visit needed when you suspect your rabbit has a cold?

Bayou is sneezing and his nose is a bit wet. :cry1:I am going out of my mind with worry right now. He isn't acting sick, he's just being his usual hyper self, but he's all sniffley.

The only pet insurance that I have heard of for rabbits that is good (hearsay) is VPI but if there is pre-existing condition then that wouldn't be covered. I don't have it myself so would defintitely examine it carefully before deciding on it.
rabbit don't get 'colds"

Your rabbit could have an allergy as usually a bacterial infection will present with a thick or colored discharge...

is there anything in the environment that has changed??
If he has a discharge that is thick or yellow or there is any change is his breathing or sounds in his chestyou should go to a vet that is knowlegeable about rabbits

It's more accurate to state that rabbitsare not known to get cold symptomsdue to the rhinovirus (the most common cause of colds in humans). However, rabbits certainly do get "colds" from other pathogens including some that cause cold symptoms in humans.

So, using the terminology for rabbits is perfectly acceptable.

I would get the insurance and take him in next week. It could wait more than a few days, but not more than a week, I say. Good luck
