Sorry, I have quite a fever and I hope this is all legible. I know it's long and a lot is prob useless info, but I can't really edit back over it in this state.
I adopted Milo from a woman who didn't have time for him any more, since she had a new husband(and dog, who did not like rabbits) and a newborn. Unfortunately, my mother was the one to contact her about the adoption and the number is now lost so I can't ask about any past health problems. Any way, she said he was perfectly healthy and he spent the first month scenting & flopping down all over my bedroom and the hallway(the rest of the house is restricted). He's 3 and hadn't been neutered yet, & once I found out about cancer risks an appointment was made for the beginning of October. I also tucked the electric cord in my room in to storage bins that run along one side of my room and covered the small uncovered parts with several rolls of tape. The cord's tape has been chewed on a tiny bit but that's likely from Faye, the other rabbit I adopted(spayed), since I've never seen him chew any thing but his chew toys. So he wasn't electrocuted.
I was sick and woke up at 6(they get fed a spoonful of some treat at 12 am, 1/2 cup veggies at 6 am, 1/4 cup pellets at 12 pm & another 1/2 cup veggies at 6 pm, and always have unlimited hay throughout the day) to feed them herbs and they were fine, but milo does this thing where he'll circle around Faye because he's totally crazy about her and he kind of moves her out of the way of the food over and over, so I split the food and filled the cage's water bottle and put him in there (so he didn't fall from any heights). I went back to bed (I was sleeping in my mom's room so she could take care of me) and I went back up at 12 and opened the cage and he didn't jump up as usual and I went ahead and split the pellets again and they clanged in his bowl and he stood up to dart like he usually does but he flopped right back down again.
I picked him up and he was almost totally limp, and I took him down to my mother and she called the vet we usually go to but they said they were totally booked but she'd call if there was a cancellation, so she called some other places and they were either booked or didn't treat rabbits and even the two animal hospitals near here don't care for them but two vet offices said that tomorrow would probably be ok to bring him in, but that's still at least 7 hours from now.
I put him in a box and put a blanket and heating pad on low over him and he wouldn't eat so I tried giving him liquids with a dropper but he still didn't want that so I tried mashed banana with a few drops of liquid rabbit vitamins and he did take that and my mother went out and got me some kitten meal replacement for him and he'll let me feed him about 3-4 ml every hour or so but he won't take any more than that. His breathing is shallow and he doesn't even try to get up. He's now moving his front and back paws a little when I pet his head and he's squirmed his body a little too. He hasn't made any painful noises though.
He also hasn't gone to the bathroom in at least 14 hours, which is making me hesitant to feed him any more. Should I try rubbing his stomach gently to stimulate him or keep trying to move him as little as possible in the mean time?? Stop feeding him altogether, feed him less often? Is there any thing else I should be doing for him?
