I just read the post that asked about stasis before the mucus.

He def didn't have stasis. He was eating fine and acting totally normal except for the mucus everywhere. He hates being/feeling dirty so other than being upset about being icky...no noticable change in behavior!

I wanted to ask you guys about a weird theory we have about our bunns and stasis. There are afew of our bunns who never get stasis and 2 who used to have regular bouts with gas. Sometimes really bad where I would have to stay home and rubtheir tummy for hours and treat them with Ovol. If they had lasted much longer it would have meant a trip to the vet. These are the two who had been abused the worst before we adopted them...poor diet and care etc...

Tony and I noticed that all our bunns all like to lay down like superman. All flayed out. The only time they lay down with their feet tucked under them is if they a) have gas or b) have cecals on the way. We noticed that their ears go really warm if it is cecals and really cold if it is gas. So when we find a bun with their feet tucked and cold ears...they get Ovol no questions asked. If they have warm ears we keep an eye on them but don't interfere. Yes a weird theory...but we haven't had a case of stasis inalmost a year and a half. Coincidence? Or does it actually work?

I am interested whether anyone else has noticed this...or if it is just our bunns!?

Awww I'm glad he's doing well now!

Bo rarely lays in the Superman style. Mine all lay sort of on their side but they also sleep mostly in the meatloaf style.

Very observant of you about the ears and stuff. Interesting too!

All our bunns are very relaxed and aren't really guarded with us or the cats. Our bunn Dandi was sleeping and I had to go in his cage to get his dish. So I was calling him gently and walking a little harder than usual so he would hear me as I went towards his house. By the time I got to his cage he was still asleep. So I got down on my knees and called his name a few times. He was lying on his side dreaming of galloping through fields of hay by the looks of it. So I reached out and touched him. Still no response...so I shook him gently...still no response. **At this point mommy starts to freak out a little.**I shook him again and said his name loudly. He gives a HUGE blink rolls over slowly, sits up and yawns. My heart had actually stopped and it finally gave a kick and started again. I thought he was dead or something. <shakes head> I don't think I like sleeping bunnies anymore!:?
