He is actually rather small about the same size as all my other buns. I reckon he weighs around 2 kg. I would lean to believe he is an angora lop cross as I am sure the owners wouldn't have dumped a pure bred into a pet shop and have him sold as a mutt. Having said that, the shop was charging top price for him, which may also be a reason why he was staying there for months and months
How much he cost you? I actaully have found quite a few people with French angora's so could quite possibly be a French angora.

If a rabbit looks anyway ''exotic'', you know like different from your standard short coat erect ear rabbit then they will usually sell them at a high price. I know you bought him but it's still a rescue in my eyes :)

I think Rabbits in Cork are overpriced ranging from €40-€70 Limerick the dearest is €40, my new angora was €35.

Now I've actually brushed half of his coat out I'm shocked at the state of him. he is incredibly thin and the mats of fur were disguising it. He is also not eating properly. i think he is just too excited and i kept him part of the day in the hutch although all the other buns were out all day. he still barely touched his pellets and only nibbled on a bit of fresh grass. His poops look rather bad too.

I would recommend that you start feeding him sunflower seeds, I heard that helps them put on the pounds My new bun is on them because her legs are like twigs and her ribs are really protruding.
